The point is to get the kids more pp time, and start driving more offense. The more confidence they get, the more they're going to be monsters in the playoffs.
Oh, I thought we were talking about what we should do when we are playing for keeps.

We have 20+ games before the playoffs start. The point is to make sure we have enough firepower to go punch for punch with the devils.

Yea, I don't think you'll have to worry about that. I was mentioning everywhere about how they should put Zibanejad in the bumper and let Panarin and Tank play the circles on their off-wing, and it finally happened. Very happy.

Meier to the devils gives them a lot of offensive firepower. We've got a much better defense and goaltending, but needing to be able to punch back is going to be important. We want to knock them out fast.

Panarin - Kane chemistry and production is the whole ballgame here. They were extraordinary together in Chicago. Two of Kane’s three best seasons. If they are able to put the band back together, it will be spectacular. If they don’t, it will be a spectacular disaster.
The way he played after questions about his hip came up was really encouraging

I mean Kane hasn't played with players as good as mika and ck since they last won a cup. So I wouldn't hesitate to try him on that line either.

Panarin and Kane would be such a bad idea and it really bothers me that it's GG's first instinct.

It's going to enable Panarin to be the worst version of himself while completely killing the other top 6 line. Panarin's line was fine, if not very good with Tarasenko on it.

Plus if you want to get the most out of Kane, I'd think it'd probably be a good idea to throw him on a line with our top 2 goal scorers. JMO.

Panarin and Trocheck have 3 less ES goals than Mika + CK.
Chytil and KK actually have the same amount of ES Goals. So by that logic, KK-Chytil - Kane.

That is untrue this season. We've shown a lot of warts in those areas.

If we're just going to base it off of this year sure and quite honestly I'd rather see Kane with Chytil than I would with Panarin.

I don't understand why Gallant is going to Galaxy brain this whole thing and he will 10000% try to shoe horn these combos even if they are flaming ass. The issue with Kreider-Zibanejad-Tarasenko is that no one on that line is really a good passer. They've functioned terribly as a trio. I fear that Panarin-Kane is just going to turn into some globetrotter BS and start to get Panarin into bad habits again. He hasn't been perfect lately, but hes been WAYYYYY better since the break than he was before it and I'd like to keep it that way.

This would be AV level stuff. I've given Panarin shit for hand picking his line mates but I'm pretty sure he'd be perfectly happy playing with Tarasenko, they've worked well.

Would it be crazy to play Kane with Chytil and KK and bump Laf back up to Mikas line?

A series with the Devils would be very fun. IMO, every game would be close to a coin flip. It easily could go either way. Kids vs kids, TDL acquisitions vs TDL acquisitions. When was the last time the Rangers and the Devils or even the Islanders for that matter, felt like they actually had a rivalry? It feels like any other game when we play the Devils or Islanders. We have more of a "rivalry" with the Calgary Flames (lmao) than we do with the Devils now. This will be very entertaining regardless of the outcome. Expect vintage playoff hockey, where one shift, both teams are flying and then the next shift, both teams look gassed and are skating through mud with that playoff exhaustion. The respective buildings will be deafening. I can't wait for this.

Kreider-Zibanejad-Kane makes way too much sense. Even if it isn’t where Kane starts this week at some point it’s gonna get tried and I am pretty confident it will eventually stick.

I'm less confident.

I've seen Gallant tear apart productive combos for no good reason at all too many times this year in lieu of trying to get shitty ones to stick. Kreider-Zibanejad-Tarasenko has been Jake Leshitshow bad.

I never have fun during Rangers vs Devils series until it’s over
