Would have been a better investment than Trocheck.
Blues have him centering Vrana and Kapanen at present.
What hasn't mattered? All debts need to be paid off. Once debts are paid off the cap will go back to 'normal'.And that hasn’t matted yet either
I think the argument is less about Panarin as a talent and more about Panarin at $11.6mm in the context of this team. I view it as an allocation of resources problem. Especially on a team where:The "move on from Panarin" meme is quickly becoming not my favorite.

If you wanna watch this team "backcheck hard against Boston" or whatever the f*** to a 31-31-10 record without this guy, leave me out.
If you're insinuating @Machinehead is David Shapiro, I'd agree.Funny that this board and specifically people like @Machinehead been talking about the teams inability to move the puck out of the defensive zone to create breakouts recently, and then that schleep Dave over at BlueSeatBlogs posts a Patreon article about that topic today
Good to know this board is the leading knowledge source for these writers lol
Yeah, plus his microstats are still elite as well
I’ve hung out with @Machinehead in person multiple times, I can unequivocally tell you he is not Dave lolIf you're insinuating @Machinehead is Dave Shapiro, I'd agree.
The board has been talking about needing a PMD for seasons now. Also that our structure/breakout/transition is dog shite.
It has always been. There were some legendary battles between some of our fans and Shapiro back in the day, roughly 8-10 years ago. I generally don't make it a point to crap over people who cover rangers hockey as a way to make a living, but the way Shitpiro handles certain matters makes it easy.Funny that this board and specifically people like @Machinehead been talking about the teams inability to move the puck out of the defensive zone to create breakouts recently, and then that schleep Dave over at BlueSeatBlogs posts a Patreon article about that topic today

Absolutely not. It is a major insult to @Machinehead to put him and Dave in the same sentence.I’ve hung out with @Machinehead in person multiple times, I can unequivocally tell you he is not Dave lol
I want Tarasenko.Once the playoffs end......I honestly do not want to see Kane or Tarasenko here at training camp......get leaner-meaner-faster and younger . They can also take Panarin with them and they can do a farewell tour like an aging rock band . I would not miss any of them .
I mean, if either is willing to take a 1 year cheap deal to give it another shot at a cup, I wouldn't say no. It is unlikely though.Once the playoffs end......I honestly do not want to see Kane or Tarasenko here at training camp......get leaner-meaner-faster and younger . No they don't have to be ignored at all. And look I was critical of him last year and parts of this season as well. But he's been their best forward the past 40 games, not just after the ASB by a wide margin I just posted the numbers the other day.I don't know whether or not Kane wants to play at home, but I do know that his dad refuses to fly and would actually drive from Buffalo to Chicago to watch him.
That alone may be enough for him to want to finish out his career there.
Yeah but sometimes they need to be ignored, in both directions. Being a slave to stats is just as bad as completely disregarding them because you can't be bothered to put in the 10 minutes of work to understand them.
October and ASB to pre-Kane trade Panarin was great. You have to live with the occasional f***ery from him when hes going because thats just who he is and I'll gladly give up the odd goal because Panarin did something stupid if hes producing.
the issue is when he's not going well, the f***ery is more common and thus, the production just isn't there. Hes been better than he was last year but if we look at him this season as a whole to this point, he really hasn't been good enough.
I don't think its unreasonable at all that people will want to move on from him if he ends up creeping back into bad habits for long stretches and/or has another dud of a playoff run. Hes the second highest earner in the league, the expectations there are for him to be the guy driving the bus, not someone just along for the ride or even worse, crashing it into the ocean.
Shapiro just steals my posts and doesn't even try to hide it.Funny that this board and specifically people like @Machinehead been talking about the teams inability to move the puck out of the defensive zone to create breakouts recently, and then that schleep Dave over at BlueSeatBlogs posts a Patreon article about that topic today

Read between the lines. Kane made it clear he wanted to come to NY and he‘s made it clear he doesn’t want to change teams again.Buffalo will have a cap space, a window that's just opening, and Kane grew up a Sabres fan.
They're going to offer him something we can't match.
I remember reading, it's important for his family to get to his games. Dolan could pick his Dad up in his Gulfstream every home game.Read between the lines. Kane made it clear he wanted to come to NY and he‘s made it clear he doesn’t want to change teams again.
He’s already made plenty of money. $1MM isn’t going to sway him.

If he wins a cup or three here, as a Ranger, he'd become immortalized. Living legendI think Kane's ideal plan is to finish his career trying to win a Cup in NY. Mika/Kreider/Panarin/Fox/Igor core isnt going anywhere and they still should find a way to fit him and keep Laf Miller Chytil. He's competing a bit with Tarasenko for a RW spot here going forward.

No one remembers Messier for winning in Edmonton.
That was fun.@Machinehead went to my wedding and I can, beyond any doubt, say he is Dave Shapiro

Buch spent a majority of his early career looking like he just came out of a blackout and found out he had skates on. In his final year and a half he played much more consistently, but he was about as active as Zib is now at his best. And people still give Zib shit all the time. I think Zib is good on both sides, but whatever"highly, highly engaged" was not always a constant with Buch in NY. I know we like to remember him with rose colored glasses because he cheapshotted a few guys.
It might sway him if the Rangers can only offer 1 million. Honestly, I don't think this is so bad to go into next season with. Of course, there is no guarantee that the contracts will look like that, but I think it is pretty close based on performance and precedent. Though I would still love to get a hold of Nico Sturm for the 4th line moving Brod to the 13th forward spot Lesh back to Hartford. I don't think Goodrow is moved, just to clarify. There is no need to do so.Read between the lines. Kane made it clear he wanted to come to NY and he‘s made it clear he doesn’t want to change teams again.
