Stack the 1st unit. Mika was scoring from the bumper. Here's a novel concept... have them move around instead of standing still. Maybe if we get crazy he can start in the bumper but rotate down low? maybe to the dots and swap with Panarin with decent puck movement? I know, crazy ideas.

it's bad and short sighted. PP2 will struggle with Jacob Trouba, unless he remembers how to play.

The only question with the personnel on PP1 should be between Kane and Tarasenko.
Mika and CK are absolute no-brainers for PP1.
What he should be blending is the ES lines.

PP sucked the past few games with Kane... because they didn't practice.

Youre going to get a lot more rotation and movement with that first unit. With Lafreniere there instead of Kreider you have a guy who can make plays from down low but also rotate with Kane who likes to walk down the wall, Laf can come up and take a handoff and then look for Trocheck in the middle, Panarin on the left or give it back to Fox to reset. 2nd unit is more of a shooting unit with Tarasenko and Zibanejad on the flanks and Trouba up top. I'm intrigued by how it plays out.

Taking Kreider off PP1 when hes got 43 PPGs over the past 3 seasons (3rd in the NHL only to Mika and Draisaitl) is head scratcher, although his puck recoveries and entries when hes had to carry the puck have been near brutal

The PP units somehow being worse than not breaking up that Kreider/Mika/Tank line wasn’t something I was expecting, but here we are.

An all shooters unit just sounds like a bad idea.
Who is dishing the puck around on that unit? It's going to be basically passes from the walls to Trouba and eventually a Trouba shot that gets blocked and cleared or results in a rush the other way.
Gallant is reallllly trying to shoe horn the top 2 lines with these combos. It's a brutal idea 5v5 and I don't think the PP is going to be any different. I don't think unit 1 is bad but I would have rather just kept things as they are.

They should be trying Panarin in the bumper spot on the PP and using the same unit from Kane's first two games. It didn't work because they had no practice time and the only strategy was Panarin forcing passes to Kane.
We really should be seeing Kane setting up Zibanejad for one timers.

If he doesn't then everyone they play will be anticipating pass pass pass at all times and you won't open any lanes and you won't get any goals.
