give Vesey his due, he's playing like a top9er this season. We need another no doubt... Barbashev aint it.
How is Barbashev not it? He had a career year with 60 points last year. Now he will likely never hit that again, but he is on pace for 35-40 points. That’s not a top 9 player??? He plays a versatile game, skates well. What more are you looking for on the 3rd line?

I'd hate to give up on Kratsov (especially for a rental) at this stage in the game. I think that if he puts on some size and strength this offseason, he's going to be able to put up big numbers in this league.

Let’s say you’re right and those were the only things holding him back (and they aren’t) what makes you think he’d actually put in the work to get bigger and stronger?

He’s had 5 years to do that.

And this is what happens when you have a GM who thinks he can work a Monday-Friday 9-5 shift. Trades go down on the weekend that would be a perfect fit for the team and he's totally out of the loop. Does he even have a work phone to check in on things on the weekend or he just waits until he gets in the office Monday at 9am to go through his emails?

He had a career year last season. No where near that player. Has terrible defensive metrics and a a lack of playoff production.

Not what we need to add. In a vacuum he's ok but not who we need. We need a wealthy mans Goodrows and Vesey, so Gallant can stop forcing them into the top6. LaBanc is the one that makes sense. Ryan O'Reilly even, for as poor of a regular season as he's having.

I seem to remember versus was jokingly known as "the golf channel". The biggest drawback was the fact that a good majority of fans in NY could not find the channel.

Wasn’t just couldn’t find it. A lot of the carriers didn’t even carry it. For Cablevision you had to get the high end sports package.

It was like car racing, obscure college networks, and OLN/Versus.

Or, perhaps Drury doesn’t plan on swinging for the fences with any trade-deadline acquisitions. If that’s the case, operating for the sake of readiness against unexpected injuries instead of creating the most cap space would be understandable. It’s possible Drury is comfortable with the group that’s already in place and he’s planning to target cheaper acquisitions.

Gallant won't change the first unit PP personnel because the Rangers like the 4 righty and 1 lefty setup. Why bother trading for a high-profile RW rental for just 40/41 days remaining in the NHL season and how many playoff games? The PP set up and the type of personnel has been place since before Covid. Fox replaced DeAngelo and Trocheck replaced Strome.

I wonder if the Blues would see something like Tarasenko for Goodrow and Hajek as both a sell and a win now/soon. They aren't bringing Tarasenko back next season and Goodrow has manageable term the Blues can plan around.

Likewise, is St. Louis on Goodrow's 15-team no-trade list? I can think of 15 worse places to play.

The no 1 overall team in the regular season still has more Cup wins since the introduction of the President's Trophy than any of the other 15 playoff teams.
Only if you look at it as the top team has more wins than the 4 seed etc. Statistically speaking the field dominates the Presidents trophy winners. Still proves my point that the best team normally does not win the cup.

Krav, Jones, Hajek, 2023 1st for Buch (20% retained)
2024 3rd for Motte
2023 4th for Braun

Because I'm afraid of change

I don't see how Goodrow has manageable term. Blues have might be losing some contracts but the 8.125 contracts for Thomas & Kyrou kick in next season, & they might re-sign O'reilly. I think adding a 3.6 contract while possibly filling in 6-7 positions might be too much for many teams. I'd venture the best place to send Goodrow would be SJS since that's where he started playing, and possibly wouldn't be on his NT list. They also would have the cap space for the remaining years, esp if they move Meier. I would love to figure out a way for NYR to trade Goodrow for Barabanov who is a ugh after next season.

Additions are coming. Who would you put in those spots today? You think those teams would be afraid of Kravtsov in the playoffs?
No i don't but until the "additions" arrive I'd be playing Kravtsov because we need him to be better.

According to the coach (& you I suupose) we should sit Laf for Blais because "Help is coming"
