I think it’s more likely that they deal both firsts than keep both of them.
1. Barbashev for Kratvsov straight up or plus?I said Motte above but I may lean towards Leivo honestly.
I REALLY don’t want to give up a first this year or next for a rental.
Watson is an interesting one. He skates well and plays a physical brand of hockey. Depending on the cost for him, Erne, Motte and Leivo I’d take whoever costs the least
So when are the players going to strike to make the owners raise the flat cap?

2. Watson/Holden for Jones/5th
3 (not required, extra) Bug/Stetcher for Hajek/a pick or prospect (a 3rd or someone like Laba?)
Kids
Pan Zibs Barbashev
Krieds Tro Bjugstad
Watson Goodrow Vesey
(Gauthier/Lesch/Brodz/Carp)
3rd pair/spares: Holden Schneider
(Harpur/Stetcher/Robertson)
Quinn has the SJ team playing hard. They beat Pittsburgh last night. Pittsburgh is not very good. They should have beaten Carolina on Friday night. It's going to be interesting to see what Drury does - many of us have advocated keeping next year's 1st's because that's the crux of the Rangers future. This league absolutely requires some young players on ELC's/1st RFA's to be competitive. Can't give that stuff away for the likes of Kane and Tarasenko.
The only way I give up a first would be in a massive deal - ie.... Panarin and a 1st for Meier +. But, that's not going to happen lol.
So what’s going to happen with the giant elephant in the room? If gallant is not going to play him, and even though he has played well, still nothing earth shattering. It may be time to move on if he cannot get the ice time and opportunities here and that’s not saying he won’t figure it out somewhere else.
It would be so NHL to see Pittsburgh miss and fall ass backwards into Bedard. If that happens, I'm making an appointment with my PCP the next day and having them start me on blood pressure medication.Quinn has the SJ team playing hard. They beat Pittsburgh last night. The lines, as currently constructed, don't have a spot for him and he's not a 4th line guy. I can't think of anyone on the top 3 that should slot on the 4th line to make room for him.
Unfortunately, the Rangers will probably have to trade him instead of letting him "cook" a little longer and get stronger.
The NHLPA will have a new executive director soon. It looks like Mike Gillis will be the new NHLPA executive director. Gillis brings a diverse amount of experience to the role. Former NHL player. Former player agent. Former NHL GM with Vancouver. So when are the players going to strike to make the owners raise the flat cap?
For what though? There are not really that many options out there you would even trade that 1st to.I think it’s more likely that they deal both firsts than keep both of them.

It won't be easy to deal Karlsson's $11.5M contract. What's the big deal about Lebanc? Grier should have bought Lebanc out last summer. Grier should get a good deal for Meier. One thing about Grier is his trades and signings have not been very good.It would be so NHL to see Pittsburgh miss and fall ass backwards into Bedard. SJ is going to clean house this summer. Meier, Lebanc, maybe Karlsson all going to be dealt. Who's not getting dealt there? Couture? That team needs a reset badly.
I'd take a 3rd for Kravtsov in this draft.Only problem is Barbashev will be a top target at the deadline . He makes a lot of sense on a Panarin line
Last year Vatrano , Motte were had for mid round picks. They probably hope to do that again for a C and D
RW may cost more . I’m ok moving Kravtsov Vs a 2nd but some here disagree
I am against dealing either 1st in this year’s draft and they might not have to with this year being a buyer’s market. But based on what we are reading/hearing, I am more inclined to give up the 2024 1st over the 2023 2nd round pick. If you can keep the (2) 1sts and 2nd in 2023 i am perfectly fine giving up both the 2024 1st and 2nd round picks. The 2023 3rd round pick is from the Avs so that could feel more like a 4th round pick. You have Jones and Kravtsov who don’t seem to be a fit here. I am more inclined to deal Jones than Kravtsov. I think a 2024 1st and 2nd plus Jones can get you Tarasenko and RoR/Barbashev. Might have to add a B level prospect in there. Maybe Chelmar or Vaisanen has increased their value from the WJCs.I said Motte above but I may lean towards Leivo honestly.

They won't. This is what the players agreed to in exchange for getting full salaries for the shortened season and capping escrow at 20%.So when are the players going to strike to make the owners raise the flat cap?
Why would a higher cap be worse for a majority of players? More money to sign bigger contracts hurts them how?Why would they do that when a higher cap would be worse for the majority of players?
The Rangers qualify him and retain his rights until he is 27.It takes two to sign a contract. Kravtsov has already voiced his displeasure with his use/deployment once... Do we think he signs another contract?

Get a 2nd or 3rd for him and use it at this deadline. The Rangers qualify him and retain his rights until he is 27.
I think that's highly, no, HIGHLY unlikely.
