I dont think that is a thing unless he is taking something, even if he is a newbie and young. 20lbs of muscle is insane.
A year of proper training when you start with great diet and rest, 20lbs is doable.

It's his literal job. I never understand how paid professionals aren't at peak condition. Your entire life is predicated on being the best athlete you can be.

Buying out Goodrow to have dead cap from 2025-2031 is like refinancing a car loan with a few years left to save $20 a month now, in exchange for paying an extra $5k in interest across the life of the refinance. It’s insanely fiscally irresponsible and that’s how a team can destroy its cap in a hurry.

As much as it sucks, I think Kravstov is done here. He’ll either get moved at the deadline or at the draft.

Gallant won’t play him, it’s pointless to have him sit around. Another home run by this teams scouting staff who thinks they’re smarter than everyone else

Would you rather lose on of our u23 players? Because thats the alternative if they cant get out from Kreider or Panarin.

Scouts that drafted him have been gone for 2 years fwiw

Would give Chytil 5/6 years, somewhere in the 4.5-5 million AAV range. Lets him get to 28/29 for another payday.

And if they have to move him for some reason, they can at that number. It’s a no brainer, hopefully Drury gets it done

I would agree with a 6 year deal for Chytil.

I'm not sure that's true. It may just mean not going long-term yet with someone like Miller or Chytil.

I just ran the numbers, it’s 1.2 million for those years, that’s nothing lol

Rangers must be a tougher team to play against than we thought, we hurt Matthews and he is now out for a month

I’m aware, but it’s not nothing. Shattenkirk and Girardi dead cap hits this year were in the same range. The team had to pay a 2nd to dump Nemeth’s measly $2.5M to make some things fit, partially as a result of that. It’s a compounding effect and its unnecessary to do here anyway (Goodrow is easily tradeable). Good teams don’t operate this way in a capped sport.

We said he wasnt part of this year's THE TEMPLATE. No coach would. He can still be part of the future. We have no idea.

I'd rather attach a 5th rounder to have someone take the contract than buy him out.

The fact that he has actual value means we won't have to pay someone to take him, all we have to do is accept the fact that his cap space WILL be the main asset we acquire if/when he is moved.

Buyouts should be reserved for those zombies still taking shifts in the NHL like Girardi and Richards

Vally pushing Adam Erne and Barbashev as trade targets on Staple's podcast, with the idea to find linemates who can work with Trocheck. I still think the priority should be RW to play with Panarin & Mika, but both guys are good options.

I don't support renting high this season without a plan/ability to keep said rentals should they gel with the current roster.

how bout worse of 2 nyr/dal 2023 1st with krav and yak for horvat as a rental

I think the big positive from last year's deadline, is that we know Drury is looking for guys that fit, more than just big names.

This is like catnip for Jovanovski

Why Erne over Leivo? Erne is a more physical player, sure, but their stats are eerily similar and Leivo's possession numbers have been better for years. He will probably cost less as well. Leivo shoots more in about the same amount of ice time as well which this team could use more of.

The Rangers traded for one of the biggest names available last deadline. It just so happened that they needed depth as well.
