Am I the only one kinda excited about the kid line being together again? I know Chytil can play and be effective/put up points with other linemates but Kakko/Lafreniere (especially Lafreniere) seem to be quicker on the puck and not afraid to do a bit more with it. I'm especially cool with it if they average about the same or more ice time (like last night) than the other forwards getting top ES minutes

Last night was good but they’ve been awful when together so far this year. All for it if it turns around.

I don't know how much value Tarasenko has.

StL was trying to give him away for the last few years.

Tarasenko was at rock bottom when he was on the block. He has turned it around and is a solid top 6 guy worth quite a bit.

Carolina has been mentioned on Tank after this Patches injury. Part of me hoped the Islanders deal a first or Raty for him so they can sneak into the 8th seed and get their heads ripped off by Boston.

Brodzinski is quietly effective which is a death sentence for a 4th liner.

They need a guy who looks like he's hustling because he can't keep up.

I call it Schrodinger's Howden.
I'm his fan too and after seeing Leschyshyn the last few games I'm sure Brodzinski will be back up and Lesch put on waivers / sent to Hartford after this week.

Having said that, it’s shaping up to be a decent trade deadline if you’re looking to add some scoring. There are some pretty big names out there, and I’m not convinced there will be nearly as many contending teams either interested or able to buy.

I could be wrong, but my initial read on the market is that the price may have to come down for some of the big names.

There goes Pierre Lebrun, carrying water for the Canes as usual

I would honestly be surprised if more than 1 or 2 firsts get moved this deadline. No one has cap space and if we're talking about how good this draft is, there's no doubt these risk averse GMs are thinking the same thing.

They'll be 30 years old eventually and then what??!?

Morgan Barron says hi.

But they don't give a shit about that, it's just a reward for Cuylle imo.
What's the difference between Morgan Barron being used in NHL games because he's a hockey player and being used in NHL games because he's being showcased? He played 13 games last year and 5 the previous year and was traded. Zac Jones played 12 games last year and 10 games the year before and wasn't traded. Was Jones being showcased too?

Walman would an upgrade over Harpur. What is his cost? Mid-round pick.

Rangers could use another PK guy. Take some of that responsibility away from Zibanejad and let him focus on being a motor for the offense. Bonino is one of the best PK guys this season up front. I think he'd fit in well on the 4th line too. He's basically what Gallant thought Carpenter was. Get him at 50% off from the Sharks. You'd have to think Drury and Grier hit on one deal at the deadline and this is who I'd like from them.

Yzerman drafted Libor Hajek, of course he traded him too, but Walman is an UFA at the end of the season. Maybe Hajek, who has more team control and a nothing pick for him would get the job done.

Fun fact: 6 years into the NHL and 3 years after demanding a trade, Lias Andersson has still played more games for the Rangers (66) than he has for the Kings (44) in equal time for each organization. Maybe we didn't "ruin him" after all.

I'll admit that I thought he'd end up as a decent 3C but it's looking like, at age 24, he'll never be that.

(Edit) Sorry, context, Cuylle was the result of that trade.

He's pretty much been as if not more productive even leading into this deadline. He was at or over a PPG last year.

I get that the situation is a bit different and its no longer a guy with term demanding his way out but I can't see him returning more than a 2nd+prospect. I'd give them Kravtsov.

Everyone was cised for Motte when he had 7 points in his first 8 games but not as much when he has 2 points in his last 24.

I have to imagine that there's added pressure player with Mika and Kreider or Panarin and Trocheck. He looked good last night. Let's hope he keeps it up.
