Nobody who's 91st percentile in xG is a league-minimum player.

I appreciate Dom's analysis of the hockey elements but his dollars and cents are off. He has guys either worth $20m+ or minimum with nothing in between.

That's not how a sport with somewhat subjective contract negotiations is going to work.
It’s because GSVA is an absolutely terrible model that keeps getting posted without anyone understanding why it’s bad. Game score is a terrible metric for hockey, and then Dom makes it worse using Evolving Wild’s GAR/dollar factor that gives absurdly inflated salaries because it doesn’t factor in the salary cap. Having it weighted so heavily with shooting and save percentages just makes it prone to huge swings in variation, so I’m completely shocked that guys like Trouba and Trocheck are having some of the worst on-ice shooting and save percentages of their career.

Conditioning stints don't add space, and we called up Cuylle thereby decreasing cap space.

Got it. 5.3 in available space is manageable and you have to assume bodies like Blais or Krav could be moved out at the deadline. Theres wiggle room to make a few moves imo

Leschyshyn sucks absolute ass and i've already seen way more than enough of him. Has the hockey IQ of a donut.

It's a really sad sight when Gauthier knows where to be on the ice more than you.

Just waive Blais

If someone takes him great, they’ve done us a favor

He’s not going to be the guy he was. Maybe he gets closer next season somewhere else but it’s not happening here.

Just rip the bandaid off Drury and admit ya made a horrendous trade

He is truly awful. What was the logic behind waiving Jonny B for him?

How many forwards are overslot right now? Goodrow, Vesey, and Leschysyn (who isn't an NHLer)? If Drury can bring in a couple second/third liners at the deadline, suddenly the bottom half of the lineup isn't a black hole anymore.

I wouldn't say Goodrow or Vesey are overslotted. They're not a disease in the top 9, but i'm very much with you that two middle 6ers that are better than them and forces them down to the 4th line would be very nice.

Hopefully the 10 days off helps Trouba... He should be living in a hyperbaric chamber

Then add a energy forwrad that can score ala Vatrano/LaBanc.

Find a 6LD who could potentially fill in top4 if needed.... Lindgren or KAM getting hurt... hurts.

Cuylle will probably be sent back to the AHL on Saturday. The Rangers are off until February 6. Four days on the NHL roster. 185 day season. $828,333 cap hit. $4477 per day. 4 days. $17,909. The conditioning stint is 14 days. February 7th. Blais will be on the Rangers cap.

Perfect time to have him in Hartford. Can continue training and see what happens from there playing games. Plus, I'd assume he will be getting 15+ minutes a night.

If this doesn't work, he's on waivers or moved out to a bottom feeder with some kind of a pick swap involved.

Blais will be a throw in at the deadline to make the money work. Maybe San Jose? They have guys who can help us and Grier was in the Rangers front office when Sammy was acquired
