He traded 4 draft picks last year to help a worse team. I’d be shocked if he moves a 1st for a rental, but theyll will add at the deadline in some capacity. Rightfully so

True but none which were a 1st rounder out right and its a buyers market with none of the top teams having any capspace to do any manuevers. And again i will push my chips in and say that the draft choices like bedard, sykora, BMB, Othmann, and others will not be on the block. Those are Drurys choices and players he sees that he wants his team to become more like.

I just want to put forth the idea that the rangers low shooting percentage is not completely a matter of bad luck/facing hot goalies. It’s a matter of a too-high a percentage of their shots being initial shots and not enough second and third tries. Those are the shots with a better chance of going in. The goalie usually stops the first shot.

Is Stanely the right move? Seems to be EXTREMELY injury prone…

2020 - 44 games played
2021 - 37 games played
2022 - 58 games played
And this year just 7 games played.

I certainly wouldnt be giving up anywhere near a 2nd and Jones for him.

Vally's been bangin on about shooting for rebounds for a while now.
Also, lately he specifiacally addressed the issue of big volume of shots but not enough of them being high quality.
He even expressed an opinion that we struggle when we take too many and the efficacy is low.

Yeah I think he would be a good fit also. Henrique has not only been able to produced well on a bad Ducks team but he is a good two way player, can win face offs, and can kill penalties.

Plus…..would really rattle some Devils fans if the Rangers got him, since they want him back. :sarcasm:

I’ve thought of this before but at 50 off can he even fit on next years cap ?

Plus is he still a C or LW. If he can’t play RW not sure it’s a fit

Probably not, and really don’t want the Rangers moving a 1st, In this draft. I Would love him on the Rangers, would be a good add. But they are not going to move him unless it’s a big haul since he’s been very good for player development and support.

Logan Stanley seems like a bad move
Stanley is arbitration eligible this summer. He has not established himself as a regular NHL D and this is his 4th NHL season. What is he worth in a trade? He requires waivers. Stanley hasn’t played much this season because he has been injured.

I’ve been trying to think outside the box but I really can only see them making a bold move with a guy like Chytil

If he’s stuck at 3C does it not make sense to explore trading him for a young RW that costs around the same ?

Also my thinking W Kravtsov is Othmaan takes his spot next year. Just seems like he’s a trade chip

It’s easier to find a rental 3rd liner like Bonino
I’m rather confident Drury and Grier are going to do something but not Meier . Maybe Nieto

Also if Jones is viewed as being not ready or too small move him now and get some value

Expecting othmann to take krav spot is a lot of hope. Vince keeps talking about how the who coach thinks the nyr keeps rushing prospects. And asking Othmann to come straight out of juniors, move to rw from lw and in the top 6 might be asking a lot. I wouldn’t be surprise if he at least starts the year in the a next season. Plus I don’t think krav has done a lot to get a big raise or be a significant asset in a trade. I

The Blues tried to give Tarasenko away like 18 months ago and now somehow he’s worth the equivalent of two first round picks for 3 months of play?

I don’t think so lol
They tried to give him away before he had a 34 goal and 80+ point season.

The injury issues were still very much a concern, then.

He's missed some time this season as well, but his totals in 34 games are still very respectable.

He's no longer worth what they could have gotten this past summer, but he would be a nice target

I don’t see Drury keeping both 1st’s with this organization. Ducks are only going to move Henrique if the price is well worth it. So most likely a 1st needs to be in the return.

Also, getting two runs with Henrique. I like the player a lot and want to see him on a competitive team, he is wasting the last of his prime years on a bottom team. If he ends up on my primary team , huge plus for me , lol.
With the way this draft is shaping up, I don't think Henrique gets a 1st round pick, even with retention.

Decent player, but not worth a 1st IMHO.

A rumour or just throwing names around ?

Hajek and Blais seem like the obvious roster spots to upgrade

Tarasenko/RoR package? 2024 1st, Jones, 2023 conditional 3rd that becomes a 2nd if team makes ECF?

Logan Stanley for a 3rd or 4th?

I don't know man, our PP was pretty damn good with Strome. Has PP1 even scored a goal yet this year?
200w.gif

Like I said from the start, trocheck is an elite 3c on a legit contender...
Yeah that's fair, I had a similar mindset. I don't think it's doom and gloom and near an issue like Art's allergy to defense (that first Boston goal could have easily been squashed out at the blue line with any kind of effort, but no let's cheat to the other side of the puck). There are other things too, I'm not going to go into a diatribe about what I think the biggest issues because I don't think the sky is falling lol.

Troch should be playing the 2C/3C role and be on PP2 and he'd be able to ride that salary into the new Cap world in a couple of years and we will feel absolutely blessed to have an affordable C depth of Zib-Chytil-Troch

Yeah, assuming he stays healthy, Trocheck's contract is gonna be looked at as a bargain once the cap starts actually increasing again
It’s a bargain right now, but it was probably unnecessary. We should have moved Strome at the deadline and slotted Chytil with Panarin for the remainder of last season.

Although there do need to be changes, I think they are too big and too many to be done in time this season. It's been clear for a while now that this is not a championship team and all things considered...

As much offensive talent as there is, there is no true leader on offense-- this will all know. Henrique is not the guy who will demonstrate how you get goals when the going is tough. O'Reilly would be that guy, but I don't know if even he would be enough. And I don't think Drury would be inclined to pay the necessary, which is probably good. The window is closing a bit faster than we hoped but that's because the rebuild "ended" so fast.

Unfortunately, it's looking like Lafreniere, and maybe even Kakko, have reached full-stride... I realize more and more, Trocheck, sheer ability wise, really is a 3C, and hold the unpopular (I think) opinion that Stome is one of the biggest reasons they're not better. Goodrow is very good, if and only if you're a contender. There is 0 leadership amongst the forwards.
Gotta say, it seems INSANE to me that people think two 21 year old players have “reached full stride”… these guys are not close to done developing. Thinking they won’t become stars is one thing, thinking they are what they are at 21 is, to me, wacky.

Tro was 2C for Carolina last year and they were certainly contenders.

I think some of you have warped ideas of
What a 2C is.
Or what depth is. Or planning for something other than Chytils best case scenario.

No Tro and one injury away from second line center Jonny Brodz.
