Proposal from the Ducks forum…

NYR get Henrique @ 3.825M (2M retained) + Kulikov

Ducks get Dallas 1st + McConnell Barker

I know this can be posted in the trade forum but want to keep this a Rangers and Ducks discussion .

I don’t see Drury keeping both 1st’s with this organization. Ducks are only going to move Henrique if the price is well worth it. So most likely a 1st needs to be in the return.

Also, getting two runs with Henrique. I like the player a lot and want to see him on a competitive team, he is wasting the last of his prime years on a bottom team. If he ends up on my primary team , huge plus for me , lol.

listen henrique would be a great add for us....however i dont see him putting us over the top, we would also have to go get someone like meier before i would consider us up there to really push for a cup

again though id rather keep both firsts and add depth similar to what we did last year

would the ducks consider a 2nd and a 3rd that becomes a 2nd next year if we reach the ECF?

Oh yeah totally agree, Henrique is a great add but it doesn’t put them over the top. I’m afraid Meier may cost them an arm and a leg, but we need help there is no question.

Ducks would have to take Blais back. N/M thought Blais had another year after this one.

Based on the beat writers I somewhat trust, its gonna be a depth guy, a LHD and maybe a RW.

I think the RW is someone Drury thinks plays the style he wants. Vatrano reunion. Conor Garland. If Drury wants to try to appease Panarin with someone that would likely just give him back the puck every time he touches it like Strome, Barabanov. All with 50%. Don't talk to me about the cap not working, all those guys are cheap and can work under the cap next year and beyond. Also, no point in worrying about next year when you don't know the numbers or how things will play out in the offseason.

As for the depth forward and LHD, it is obvious to me the cleanest and simplest answer, Motte and Holden from OTT. Blais(for cap), Hajek and a pick.

I’d just like to point out that I have been firmly on the keep and promote Chytil train forever. I feel this is important to state as one of the more vocal Laf critics.

Chytil has several attributes to go along with very nice underlying statistics that made it clear to me that he was going to develop like this.

I do not see the same things with Laf unfortunately.

I very much want to be wrong.

No way, way too much for Henrique, besides that fact that 3.825 can’t be afforded by nyr next season. It would have to be a 2nd (can become a first if nyr win the cup) and a lesser prospect than bmb who is having a great year. Someone like skinner/manchin/kjellberg

It depends on what Drury has lined up. I'd trade one of the 1st's but that would mean no Othmann or Kravtsov. It would probably mean a deal in the offseason of one of the larger contracts so perhaps Drury could bring back some futures there...

Absolutely terrible deal. I dont see Drury anything of the sort. Drury wont be trading BMB who is tearing up the league right now and was just drafted by us with a 1st for that. Drury is making this team into his image and that i have stated before includes, 2 way fiesty in your face pest hard working type players. Hes not going to start dealing away HIS identity that he wants the team to look like in the future.

The firsts i honestly have a very hard time thinking that Drury will be an idiot and trade either 1st in this draft. This is where he can continue to build and create the team the way he wants. 2 more picks added in a deep draft to his already drafted players.. Nobody out there is worth either first right now. And we are not that type of player away from winning a cup.

Although there do need to be changes, I think they are too big and too many to be done in time this season. It's been clear for a while now that this is not a championship team and all things considered...

As much offensive talent as there is, there is no true leader on offense-- this will all know. Henrique is not the guy who will demonstrate how you get goals when the going is tough. O'Reilly would be that guy, but I don't know if even he would be enough. And I don't think Drury would be inclined to pay the necessary, which is probably good. The window is closing a bit faster than we hoped but that's because the rebuild "ended" so fast.

Unfortunately, it's looking like Lafreniere, and maybe even Kakko, have reached full-stride... I realize more and more, Trocheck, sheer ability wise, really is a 3C, and hold the unpopular (I think) opinion that Stome is one of the biggest reasons they're not better. Goodrow is very good, if and only if you're a contender. There is 0 leadership amongst the forwards.

Not having Strome being an issue is absolutely one of the crazier things I've read around here.

Troch, for all of his lack of real chemistry with Art, has made more of the opportunity with him and on PP1 than Strome ever did. I do like the idea of settling into Zbad-Chytil-Tro as the center depth, and that fits this team and Trocheck better too.

He's shooting 8% at 5v5. Last year he shot 8.4%. Two years ago he shot 9.0%. His PP shooting percentage is irrelevant as he won't have that sort of role here anyway.

Please no and I think Henrique could be decent. My goodness isn't Barker playing well and he's a center.
