HF Rangers fans, who don't watch the Habs ever: "All our forwards are the same. We need someone in the top 6 who brings a different element. We need someone like Josh Anderson"

Tony Marinaro, leader of Marination:

Rangers can't get what they have to work, yet some addition is going to come in and help this group put it all together?

Stop it, the Rangers need to figure out some things internally before they have any chance.
Drury shouldn't spend a single top asset for a rental. We sit arguing with each other about this team like one or two players past their prime years will make a difference.

I’d rather keep both 1sts off the table this year
Offer 2nd max , other picks and some kids like Jones and Kravtsov

I don’t see those two kids here long term anyway

I think Larry hit the nail on the head: Chytil to the 2nd line.
Staple wrote about the 2nd line troubles

An executive from another organization texted back on July 13, when the Rangers kicked off free agency by signing Trocheck to a seven-year deal worth $5.625-million per, to say this:

“Good player. Bad fit.”

It’s not yet 50 games into Trocheck’s first season with the Rangers so it’s hard to make any sort of declaration. So far, though, Trocheck’s grinding, energetic style has indeed not fit with Panarin’s symphony conductor style of play. Panarin loves to hang out along the wall, surveying and looking for seams. Trocheck likes to drive straight into the mouth of chaos, looking for greasy goals and a way to aggravate opponents. Trocheck is trying to hang back and improvise off Panarin’s unpredictability and those two, paired with Kravtsov or Vesey or Barclay Goodrow, have had the puck a fair bit and thrown a lot of shots on net.

But the chemistry just hasn’t been there. Trocheck’s best stretch of five-on-five play this season came when he was part of a third line with Chris Kreider and Vesey, when Trocheck’s straight-ahead style created some good chances. Gallant may have little choice but to concede the No. 2 center spot to Filip Chytil for the near term and see if Panarin and Chytil can find some common ground.

I wasn’t crazy about the Trocheck signing. Not sure how he even has 31 points. I get it need the depth and would have left a hole down the middle. Goodrow hasn’t been that guy either sadly.

I know I tend to be the more optimistic poster here but was very disappointed they couldn’t make it a closer game last night.

I am in agreement with the folks who think we should keep our 1st round picks. This draft is going to have a boat load of talent in the 1st round that could see the NHL within two years, maybe sooner. I know this organization is very impatient. But with that said ,Drury will probably use one of those 1st and other asset to fill the holes at the TDL. It’s just the Rangers way.

The concern with Tarasenko is health. But when on the ice he is productive.

He has 91 shots on goal with an 11.1 Shooting % in 34 Games. On the Rangers, of guys with 50 shots or more that SH% would rank him 5th. If you make that number 100 shots or more that would put him 3rd and not far behind Mika — of course assuming Tarasenko would be well over 100 shots right now. Bottom line is he shoots the puck and he scores. We desperately need that, whether it is him or someone else.

Tarasenko would make sense from a need perspective but I fear the cost. Dadonov fits...

I’d go balzy and trade Chytil w Blais for a young RW and a C

Most think I’m nuts though lol
Sammy's pretty worthless in a trade. It's a shame because I liked the player before the injury. Maybe if they waived him one of the Chicagos, Columbuses that are just cycling guys in and out would give him a try, but I wouldn't say for sure since he's had a lot of games this year and shown nothing; I'm still surprised no one took Gauthier, even if it was during the busy period when everyone was trying to sneak guys through.

Chytil's a player with real faults but he's probably less of a straight line, no creativity player than Trocheck so I don't know what they're waiting for regarding giving him a long look with Panarin

It’s been obvious for a while now. Brooks isn’t breaking any news.

I have zero concern for Tara’s health. He had a shoulder injury a few seasons ago and was rushed back. He blamed team doctors and from his play this and last season, there may be something to it. Other than the two shoulder injury seasons, he averages over 70 games/season.

Woke up this morning and my only thought was we are being weighed down by 20 million in cement shoes by our 3th best forward and 4th best defenseman. And the coach doesnt have the stones to actually cut ice time at the moment. Gallant gets some points for at least understanding Panarin's line is the problem

I’d even try Panarin , Trotchek , Chytil

Goodrow to 3rd line C

But they won’t

At this point GG is AV 2.0. Doesn't speak to the team and let's them figure out by themselves. Favors age over potential. The biggest issue is he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room just like AV. Refuses to make changes because in his head it should work. Sure he changes the lines but reverts back to them once they lose. Troch looked the best with Kreider & Vesey, won't try that again just so he can jam Panarin & Troch together. PP is a dud, won't change players, hell he won't even change the formation. Panarin does not work on the right side. It didn't work at the start of last season and it's not working this year, but let's keep trying to fit round pegs into square holes.
