Build Drury a statue if he can offload the Breadman and replace him with Meier.
Pastrnak.

I would be shocked if there was a massive offering to the Sharks if it did not include the acquiring team already speaking with Meier and agreeing on an extension.
Pastrnak.
Id probably trade Laf and a 1st (maybe both?) if we could get Timo on an extension within reason. He's a stud.
I mean yeah in a perfect world. Boston wont let him leave though
Zegra is the money maker and one of the next faces of the NHL, they aren't trading him. Our only hope is him signing with us when he's finally a UFAIf Anaheim wins the lotto.... Would they be more inclined to trade a Zegras or McTavish?
If Anaheim wins the lotto.... Would they be more inclined to trade a Zegras or McTavish?
The issue is, trading Lafreniere makes NO SENSE in terms of the cap. And trading the future for a run now, to me, is a bad move.
If the Rangers trade for Meier, it wont be for 1 run. It will be for probably 7 or 8 lol. Its the type of move you trade a top prospect for.
It doesn't fit in the cap though, that's the point. You would enter into an off-season where, if you trade Lafreniere for Meier and then need to trade Kreider for cap space, having only Panarin on LW...
Kreider isnt going anywhere
Out of all the whipping boys, he never made sense to me.Kreider isnt going anywhere
Then flat out, it won't work for Meier.
Meier is a pipedream. Then flat out, it won't work for Meier.
Meier is a pipedream.
We're hard pressed to afford our own kids how we going to afford another 8-10M winger?
he's going to cost a lot. I'm not interested in crazy expensive rentals tbhThey shouldve trade for Meier last year. Id still take him as a straight rental though. He's the best player out there by a country mile
100% agree. I think if Bread repeats last year’s PO performance, things will start to get ugly bt him and the front office. You'll find no argument from me in regards to Panarin not earning his contract. We are a playoff flameout away from a divorce. I don't think Drury is going to sit idly by as his salary cap is strangled by Panarin floating his way through the next 3.5 years.
We can talk all we want about Laf and ice time and the kids, etc., but the biggest issue is that Panarin cant find chemistry with anyone. Who is the common denominator? He's not the player he was pre-Covid and he's not worth 11.6 million anymore. I know parts of the fanbase think he can do no wrong, but the fact is the Rangers are held back because they are paying an 8 million dollar player 11.6 million. Any real salary relief issues start with, "How to we get rid of Panarin?"

If there's a move to be made, it'd happen in the offseason. With Panarin and/or Trouba on the move. Things can change though... Panarin showed he can still play up to his potential, in a way... his first couple weeks this season were vintage 2019 Panarin... then it all fell apart
I want him to be better just like I want the entire offense to be better. Play with more pace and speed. Attack. Look like your practice. The things that plague Panarin are the same things that plague the rest of the team imo... It's just exacerbated with him
What's the problem? with the team? That's the $1,000,000,000 question... something is rotten. There's a major issue somehwere.
My fear is that it's deeper than Panarin. I find it likely, that if/when he'll be moved, he'll quickly turn back into 2019 Panarin.Im telling you, there is going to be an ugly divorce between the Rangers and Panarin if he doesnt show up this postseason. The tea leaves are there, between Drury not being happy last summer, the lackadaisical start to the season, the lack of consistent chemistry with any player on the team. The Rangers cannot win with a Panarin that isnt playing up to his 11.5 mil standards. The overpassing and outside play that permeates the lineup at times stems from him.
This is an organization they changed the trajectory of the franchise on Panarin's behalf post-Wilson and theyve been rewarded with his 2 worst ES strength seasons since then. The roster proved themselves as a team and individuals in the playoffs last year. Panarin scored in Game 7 to win it and basically coasted the rest of the time. The guns will be pointed at him if we cant get it done and he disappoints again, mark my words.
If Anaheim wins the lotto.... Would they be more inclined to trade a Zegras or McTavish?
I see we've gone mad in here.
They really need to try some internal changes before shipping off any prospects. The best scenario is to get the young forwards all the support/help they need and have them realize their full potential
Remember when people wanted to ship off Kaako for nothing?
