Yeah but Schneider got out. In less time. Robertson hasn’t
Gallant also had Schneider on his Gold Medal winning Canadian club at the World Championships ......that would have given him a bit more of an insight of what was to come from him. Sneak preview....it helped !

My guess is that one of Robertson or Jones become the centerpiece for a middle 6 wing rental this year.

Someone more valuable than Vatrano but less than Copp coming back.

Try to keep our future picks if possible- they'll be feeding the best when Fox and Miller are still just in their late 20s.

Let’s calm down on K Miller and 7-8 year contracts. He’s got some dynamite to his game offensively, but he’s still very average defensively. 3 yrs 4-4.5M.
All he needs to do is place one good solid right uppercut to Crosby chin the next time they meet in the slot....and he will instantly be 50 % better defender . That will be his next step and get him over the Marc Staal type of defender hump ......learn to throw a punch when needed in those scrums or after a whistle . He is big enough to get away with it . I think the kid is coming and we will see more physical play from him as soon as this next playoff run starts .

Crosby & KAM have had their run-ins. I like that head 2 head matchup for us going forward. Let Fox get the easier assignments

Why…he said depth, after Kakko that’s it. Krav is just as unproven as Laf at the moment.
Gauthier has basically made 4RW his just like Kakko did for 1RW. Vesey is here for two more years at a great price for 3RW. So Goodrow and Lafreniere who everyone is crying that he needs to be in top-6 is not enough depth for you?

As I said Kravtsov is here only in marriage of convenience, that’s it. If Drury decides it is not worth it - Kravtsov will be moved. So a blank statement that Kravtsov “is not going anywhere” is a silly when it delivered as an absolute.

Yea, those are some ok bottom 6 players, but he is saying Krav could turn into something much better than a bottom 6 player, and that would greatly improve the RW depth.

Though I agree about the blank statement, it's definitely not a given he will 100% be here.

We'll see after the summer who had it right. Who are your right wings going into next season? Kravtsov won't cost much, has a lot of upside, and the Rangers are cap f***ed. Moving him for a rental makes very little sense to the future of the franchise - and this is coming from someone who really isn't a "Kravtsov guy". But, he is growing on me.

(Edit) - the Rangers gave LaF a look at RW and he looked worse than he already does. Goodrow is a Swiss Army knife that's not going to be a staple @ 2RW.

Depending on playoff success, or lack thereof, Goodrow is more likely to be moved than Kravtsov. Although, all of this might be moot if Kravtsov is swapped for another cost controlled RW - but the Rangers are too dumb to do that and will probably draft 3 more LW's. ;)

I think I want Tarasenko as a deadline addition. Cup winner who can play top 6 and actually finish on his chances. I feel he’d be a good fit with Panarin. He is old and broken down but we only need him to keep it together for a few months. I doubt the market gets STL a first at this point.

I would trade a 2nd + lower prospect in a heartbeat for him or ROR.

2nd and one of Cuylle or Jones is a reasonable ask for a veteran top 6 forward to play with Panarin. Kravtsov is raw, but I think more useful in the bottom 6 as he adapts more to the NHL game.

Kravtsov isn't going anywhere - our depth at RW is awful.
I could see them trading him, I could see Drury looking at him as one of his expendable assets. He may go in a deadline deal if Drury can choose between dealing him or one of the first rounders in the upcoming draft.

Personally, I hope he doesn't get traded. I think he is a perfect person to look at as signing a dirt cheap contract because he'll have basically no leverage and he will FAR outperform the value of his deal. Kakko got 2x2.1, what will Kravtsov realistically get? 1x1? 2x1.75? Whatever it is, he will outperform it. A cap strapped team NEEDS guys like that in the lineup. Panarin at 11.6 is crazy, but having both 2LW and 2RW locked up for 13m combined is not bad at all, especially when 1LW+1RW=7.6m. I think having a top 9 winger who can be signed as cheap as Kravtsov will be is invaluable to a contending team with a few bloated contracts already on the books.

It's also not really fair to compare Robertson to Schneider.

I think it's lost in the weeds sometimes how impressive what Schneider has done is. We're all so focused on the forwards and Fox and Miller that sometimes the fact that we have a kid who at 20 years old came up into the NHL and stuck and played well for his age and experience through a second half of an NHL season and a long playoff run and in his second season has done nothing but improve and look better and better get lost in the shuffle.

Schneider was a top flight prospect - he was 9th ranked overall for all North American skaters in the 2020 draft. In any other draft year, he would be all we focused on, especially how we jumped the Devils to get him. And at 21 he's a rock solid fixture on the blue line and could and should be a top 4 mainstay for the next long while.

Honestly he should just skate it out more IMO.
He really should, he has to be one of the best D in the league when skating the puck out of his zone and carrying it all the way through into the offensive zone.

The game plan when him and Trouba are out should be KAM looks to carry out when it's there and when it's not defer to Trouba, who is pretty underrated and effective at outlet passes especially into the NZ, to make the outlet.

Moving Kravtsov will be a mistake. But I think there was always the possibility that Drury viewed signing him and bringing him over this year as a way to rebuild his value and move him.

how about Andres Englund from the Avs at the deadline?

Auston Watson would be a good pick up for the Rangers. PK takes faceoffs, one of the toughest in the league.

physical tough stay at home UFA and makes 750,000 26 years old

Not much offense but he would be a much cheaper option than Gavrikov and other defenseman.
