It's up in the air but there is zero question that he's on the outside looking in when the playoffs start.Kravtsov isn't going anywhere - our depth at RW is awful.

This is one of those posts where u agree with everything until the last sentenceIt's also not really fair to compare Robertson to Schneider.
I think it's lost in the weeds sometimes how impressive what Schneider has done is. We're all so focused on the forwards and Fox and Miller that sometimes the fact that we have a kid who at 20 years old came up into the NHL and stuck and played well for his age and experience through a second half of an NHL season and a long playoff run and in his second season has done nothing but improve and look better and better get lost in the shuffle.
Schneider was a top flight prospect - he was 9th ranked overall for all North American skaters in the 2020 draft. In any other draft year, he would be all we focused on, especially how we jumped the Devils to get him. And at 21 he's a rock solid fixture on the blue line and could and should be a top 4 mainstay for the next long while.
He really should, he has to be one of the best D in the league when skating the puck out of his zone and carrying it all the way through into the offensive zone.
The game plan when him and Trouba are out should be KAM looks to carry out when it's there and when it's not defer to Trouba, who is pretty underrated and effective at outlet passes especially into the NZ, to make the outlet.
Jones or Robertson and 2nd round pick in 23 is probably the Rangers best package for a rental. Jones scored last night. He is a very good player. My guess is that one of Robertson or Jones become the centerpiece for a middle 6 wing rental this year.
Someone more valuable than Vatrano but less than Copp coming back.
Try to keep our future picks if possible- they'll be feeding the best when Fox and Miller are still just in their late 20s.

What does the deal get them?
I am guessing it’s more of a seller’s market this year. There will be a lot of teams still with a playoff shot because of the parity. Though cap space might be a mitigating factor. At least when it comes to players who aren’t on expiring deals.Horvat for Zac Jones + 2nd would be quite a deal, if it really is a buyers market and Vancouver is scared of botching their deals, reminiscent of last TDL
Kreider Zib Kakko
Panarin Trocheck Kravstov
Laf Chytil Horvat
Horvat can take faceoffs
I agree. This is the only reason I can imagine for him still being with the parent club.I don’t see the Rangers moving Blais. They moved out Reaves for cap space. They don’t have to move Blais. They may push him down to spare forward.
They targeted Blais as a “playoff type” player and didn’t get the benefit of that last year. He’s still recovering from that injury. They will want to insert him into a tough playoff series and see if he can make some noise. Just my two cents.
Hope not. They would be selling low at this point. Unless another team is willing to pay for potential. My guess is that one of Robertson or Jones become the centerpiece for a middle 6 wing rental this year.

Just because Jones may not have an immediate or long-term future here doesn't mean we should give him away.

Now we want to trade Kravtsov? Watch the games. He plays well. He's not racking up points, but surprise surprise he gets no PP time either. He isn't hurting the team at all. Can we allow the young forwards to develop properly and be given actual opportunities before completely destroying any long term viability. Or sure, put the team in cap hell with aging forwards and nothing of substance.
People love to talk about how the moves made in 93-94 ruined the teams chance at a dynasty, and yet seem to be arguing for the exact same style of moves now.Now we want to trade Kravtsov? Goodrow's contract wouldn't be a terrible one to buy out. It doesn't have any negative cap numbers until after the cap starts to rise and then we have more room to play with.We can’t trade Kravtsov because we can’t ice a lineup next year without a few sub-$1m players who truly deserve to be in the NHL. He needs to be one of them.
This is assuming we’re not getting rid of one of our really bad contracts (ie Trouba or Goodrow), which I’ll never believe will happen until it does happen.
Yeah, if we need to move Goodrow and can't find a taker (or the cost to move him is prohibitive), we can buy him out. Hopefully the cap will go up by more than 1 mil and we'll have enough space to do everything we need without moving guys.Goodrow's contract wouldn't be a terrible one to buy out. Agreed. that 4 million dollar jump to the cap solves all our problems. lock up key and fil, bridge laf, and kratsov.Yeah, if we need to move Goodrow and can't find a taker (or the cost to move him is prohibitive), we can buy him out. Do you think that Laffy should stay on PP1 when Kreider is back in the lineup? Now we want to trade Kravtsov? Watch the games. He plays well. Now that’s an option…with Laffy’s creativity and puck smarts, the PP would be even more lethal than than it is nowThere’s a pretty easy way to have him on PP1 when Kreider is back. Just pull the goalie on powerplay opportunities and run a 6 on 4.
