why take 3 years if you can evaluate the deal within 3 seconds?Easy there. Takes 3 years to fairly evaluate a trade. Blais can still turn it around & score a goal at some point.

The Rangers signed Vesey to a 2 year extension. It’s on the website
Tarasenko hurt his hand when it was struck by a shot he blocked. That injury happens to an 18 year old exactly the same.Kane left the Hawks game after the 2nd period last night. He suffered a knee injury in the Hawks previous game against San Jose. He tried to play with the injury last night. These old guys are getting hurt. ROR. Tarasenko. Kane. The Hawks are off today.
800k for a top6 player.Wow that’s a steal
even infinity times zero is zero.Since Blais is at zero isnt it technically infinitely more goals? lol
though an 18 year old heals up in like 16 seconds. Hahaha.Tarasenko hurt his hand when it was struck by a shot he blocked. That injury happens to an 18 year old exactly the same.
no we don't. why? it's a reminder to not the same mistake(s). keep a guy and develop him for 5 seasons and then do some oakland a's shit? actually it's worse than the a's as they actually get back meaningful impactful hauls, not sammy phucking blais!!!We need to stop talking about the Buch trade. It wasn’t a trade for grit. It was a trade for cap space and lineup flexibility. We had at the time what was perceived to be overflowing prospect depth at that position and lacked certain elements lower down the lineup.
The trade was poorly executed. Bottom line.
That said, Blais was never supposed to come in and produce at anywhere near Buch level. Kakko or Kravtsov were supposed to do that with their new found opportunity.
It's obvious you have an emotional stake in this. However bad the trade was, it was NOT Blais for Buch, and Blais was never meant to have the sort of role Buch had nor be his replacement. It was Buch for cap space, Blais and a 2nd. If you cant let go of a trade from two off seasons ago, you should at least stop misframing it.no we don't. why? it's a reminder to not the same mistake(s). keep a guy and develop him for 5 seasons and then do some oakland a's shit? actually it's worse than the a's as they actually get back meaningful impactful hauls, not sammy phucking blais!!!
and frankly it was kinda a spit on buch's face. you were wonderful at under a million a season but when it came time for a well deserved payday sorry but we got to send you somewhere else.
The return was bad. Everyone agrees. Everyone knew it at the time.no we don't. why? it's a reminder to not the same mistake(s). keep a guy and develop him for 5 seasons and then do some oakland a's shit? actually it's worse than the a's as they actually get back meaningful impactful hauls, not sammy phucking blais!!!

Yea, I really respect his ability to come to terms with his limitations and just go full bore into becoming a top defensive player. It’s so, so much more common for guys like that to just force trying to become scorers and end up lighting up the AHL or KHL rather than adjusting their game to contribute at this levelVesey’s deal is mutually beneficial. He’s comfortable here, wants to be here. I think he feels really fortunate to have this second run with us, it’s a safe decision. Everyone wins.
PS - I couldn’t stand Vesey in his first stint with us. Beyond his decent play, I like this version far more, just a vibe. I think he’s very appreciative to be here, and it shows.
Buch is gone.deal with it and move on.we get it,it was a lousy trade.time to let it go
That and giving out the bad contracts that put us in that position to begin with.i'll let it go but it should be a lesson that something like this be avoided and not be repeated again.
I honestly think NYR NEED the sort of player they envisioned Blais to be. If they think he can get past the knee injury by next year and become that, they will try to keep him. He's (I believe) UFA though so its not even all up to this team.Dont you understand we couldve gotten a 1st (which wouldve been traded for Copp anyway) and Rasmus Kupari (6 points in 25 games) instead!?
In all seriousness, Buch is long gone and Blais needs to be next. I enjoy when hes able to get close enough to hit a guy but theres no way he should be taking a regular shift down the stretch and in the playoffs. 1.5 mil better spent elsewhere.
I thought my reply was sarcastic enough to stand on its own.why take 3 years if you can evaluate the deal within 3 seconds?
