13 points is tied for 51st among centers in the NHL.

32 teams in the league. That's 64 top-6 centers. He's maybe in the lower echelon of 2nd line centers but he's very much producing like a 2nd line center.

The Buchnevich trade wouldn't be criticized as much if:

- The cap space freed up was actually used that off-season, or
- The return was better than a 4th liner and a 2nd round pick, or
- The top-6 spot that opened up wasn't given to Blais/Goodrow/Hunt but to a top prospect instead

Pick one. Just one of these would have alieviated a lot of the criticism of this trade.

On top of the 2nd round pick acquired in the trade was shipped off along with a first to pretty much replace Buch. So the trade was pretty much Buch for Blais straight up. It would've just been better to QO Buch for 1 year and let him walk then trade him for Blais and then still need to fill his role. Esp since last season GG would give Hunt, Goodrow, whomever else more opp in the top 6 over KK(when healthy) and Laf prior to the TDL

am I the only one who doesn't think they could've got more for Buchnevich? their choices were super limited. if you trade him for say, a 2C with a real contract, we can't sign Trocheck (nor would we need to, we'd have the same type of player instead hopefully). i doubt teams were lining up with cost controlled young top 6 forwards for Buchnevich. we got a cost controlled top 9 (before he got hurt) forward instead. any team that traded for Buch knew they were going to have to pay him after a year. Buch is a fine player but it's so easy to just sign a guy like him through free agency without giving up anything.

My opinion on this is to think Drury could've gotten more is to think that Drury sucks. Which is highly possible. So either there was no real deal to be had, or Drury is the WOAT. No in between.

This is so stupid but here we are. Did you see Mollie Walker's @MollieeWalkerr interview with Turk? Can you be more mealymouthed?

"#NYR coach Gerard Gallant on when he wants to get Vitali Kravtsov back in: “He’s been ready the last couple. I have an idea, but I don’t know when. I liked the way our team played the last game…It might be the same lineup. I’ve got no problem with the way Kravy has been this year. He’s worked hard and all that. He’s had some unfortunate luck. Right now, it’s about our team and I liked the way our teams played right now. We’ll see when it’s gonna happen, but it’s gonna happen. He’s going to play. We want to give him every opportunity.

So far, he’s worked hard. He’s been a good, character person. He’s done everything we’ve asked. Just a matter of getting into the game… It’ll happen sooner than later, but we’ll see. (3/3)"
Gallant has some 5d intergalactic Stratego moves in the works guys, just be patient I think he’s earned our trust.

Does anyone have the stats from a couple/3 ? seasons back when we had BOTH Tony D and Fox running our offense ? It would be interesting to see if the 2nd offensive Dman had any influence on our scoring numbers...can our stats dept source that out ? One thing about Tony despite his faults....he could lug the puck and make a hard solid pass .
Metrics wise, it wasn't pretty.... but that team was fun to watch until Covid happened

Trade interest in Reaves according to Seravelli. Leave him in Anaheim to reunite with Strome/Frankie. Enjoy the SoCal sun. Could see Grier being interested with the sharks too

So what does that mean? Are the Rangers actively shopping Reaves?

Want absolutely nothing to do with Kane.

I know I'm in the minority... I'm taking Chychrun all day.

We need puck movers. We need someone who can score from the back end. He has size and can skate. At 50% he,s worth the cost.

Jones' clock is ticking... It'd be nice for him to get some consistent time but if Turk is going to sit him with every mistake, it becomes an issue.

They better get some skilled players with toughness and hope Othmann Cuylle can be that for the Rangers in the near future. Skilled players that are passive don’t win.
Reaves isn’t skilled so I’m not sure this is a concern lol

I can guarantee the Rangers will not fall apart because they move dinosaur Reaves lmao

I would waive or trade Reaves and claim Zach Sanford off of waivers from Nashville. I would even try him on the top 2 lines. Maybe he finds some chemistry and puts in 15 to 20 goals.

You’re not the only one, but that cannot possibly be true. I simply don’t believe there was not a package offered that involved a young player with top 6 potential and a first.

No one would care about Buchnevich for Blais if any of the beloved top 10 picks we had could produce even close to a top 6 level

Fun fact. Lafreniere and Kakko are both top 120 in even strength scoring for forwards.

32 teams x top 6 = 192 forwards

What is top 6 level production when you get no PP time? 9 points and 8 points sure seems like it.

Including all points, Lafreniere is t165 and Kakko is t194.
