We are back to video game trades w no perception on what it does to the team and the room. Lindy is a heart and soul guy. He came up to the NHL here. This is exactly the type of player we lack and always try to import.

As has been said for months, bridge or one year laffy and miller.

The cap is going to go up more than 1m. If you don't know that you haven't paid attention to bettman over the years. He wants something in return for going over a million, my guess is another year added to cba term.

The NHL has nothing they want from the players (except 84 game season), they want to keep the players where they are from a cba standpoint and they want to push off the war that is coming that is based on increased franchise values not benefitting the players. This is a fight that is brewing and the league wants to delay it as long as possible. So either the league will get the 84 game season they want or an extra year on the cba and suddenly there will be an agreement to bump the cap more than 1m this summer.
Totally agree on the ‘war’. And I’d go further and suggest it could end up in court.

Halak sucks. Record with him in the net does not lie. Let’s in way too many easy goals. They are going to need to deal with both of these things
I hate to jump on any of these guys; they’re all so amazingly talented and dedicated. But I have to agree; Halak looks to have passed his ‘sell by’ date.

Been saying this for months, if we trade for Kane and then grab Holden and Motte from Ottowa, were winning the cup
Kane- 2023 1st and 2024 2nd 50% retained
Holden and Motte- 2023 3rd

Panarin-Zib-Kane

Laff-Chytil-Kakko

Kreider-Trocheck-Vesey

Motte-Goodrow-Gauthier

Kravtsov

Lindgren-Fox

Kandre-Schneider

Holden-Trouba

Chytil on pace for 47 points. Interesting to see what kind of deal he will get.
I’m hoping for a three year contract (with one UFA year included). Still being RFA for the first two is important. Something in $4.x range. $3.5+$3.8+5.6=$4.4. Even in the first year it’s a big increase from his current contract. Could probably add another $0.6 to the total and spread out however they chose.

Halak looks like a guy that is being taught new strategies for positioning on various plays and who is struggling with the new concepts. Those that follow goaltending instruction and the differences from org/coach to another will understand what I mean. That jvr goal is a perfect example of what I mean. Different coaches/orgs teach the goal line stance and positioning differently. He seems unsure on things.

I want 4-5 years in the 4.75-5.25 range

Patrick Kane is booty this year. No thanks
Hed be very very good with bread and motivated if sent here.

Ill play the game though, who do you propose we go get. And in hfboards fashion it’ll probably be “no one, preserve the assets”. Some of you wanna die with a trove of assets and no cups

Trying to keep it realistic. There are separate pressures - Rangers in cap crunch for earlier years so even this $4.6m will be tough to fit in next season. On the other hand Chytil camp will surely want to capitalize on UFA status while the Czech is in his full prime and there will be more cap space all around. Even one UFA year would be a big win in IMO.

He was bad last year, not sure why he was signed.

When I think of someone who can play Gallant hockey I think of Patty Kane
Evander yes...Patty No.

You don't think Patty Kane is good at chipping the puck up, getting the puck deep, forechecking, backchecking and owning the boards?

If we're going to add anyone that would cost a ton, I'd go Meier. We need snipers. Zibs has changed his game to mimic Panarin and I hate that he doesn't shoot anymore anywhere but the PP

or go back to Anaheim and get Vatrano at 50%. Vatrano for 3 years @ $1.7M is nice

Can we please bring Robertson up for a few games to see how he plays. Id really like him to get a bunch of games in before playoffs incase we need him and maybe he's like Schneider where he plays better in the show.

Only boards Patty owns are the ones his house is built with.

Meier is interesting, but that 10m arb number is gonna be prohibitive to move him after the season.

Whatever team gets his right, he'd probably get a 7-8 year deal around $8M per

San Jose would be dumb not to resign him.

"No one, preserve the assets"

because this team ain't winning shit, and wasting multiple assets on Patrick Kane ain't changing shit

Vatrano is having a horrendous season in Anaheim, analytically speaking

How much would he cost @ 50% retention? Anaheim is not competing any time soon. It'd be another 2 years after this season

Just one man’s opinion but Robertson has not progressed yet this season. Watched every Hartford game this year and if you’d have to call up anyone my choice would be Jones then Scanlin.

I have changed my view on that topic. Trade Lindgren. Keep Goodrow. Trade Goodrow when the cap increases. Goodrow is a good player. He is having a very good year. Teams would be interested in him if the cap wasn't flat. The cap should go up in 24-25. The Rangers aren’t paying Lindgren. Drury should get a good deal. Drury was a donkey for taking a 1st round pick and Kupari from LA for Buchnevich. Edge said LA had the better offer on the table and Drury gave Buchnevich for 10 cents on the dollar.
Why not just extend Lindgren for his last RFA year when his current deal runs out?

He would not have the leverage to get a big award for that year through arbitration.

If the Rangers want to either self rent or sell from there it would depend on how they are doing that season.

Keeping Lindgren makes them not rent, or worse, sign some other defender.

Them finding another Goodrow is easier.

Kulikov from Anaheim should be the #1 trade deadline target. He won't cost a lot and will solidify the 3rd LHD.

It's a no brainer.

Then add some fiber up front. I'll go back to Boinino/Nieto from SJ.

Vatrano has too much term left for a team that will be up against the cap again this upcoming summer/next season.
