The Lindgren worry about style of play is overstated. He’s 24, his next contract won’t be an issue, it’s the one after that which will be.

Chytil needs to be locked up long term (4-6 years) before he blows up into our own Roope Hintz and we have to pay him $8+

Who knows what’s going to happen with Laf Miller and Kravtsov, will be interesting to see how they handle it.

Don’t think the team has any interest in buying out Goodrow, but they may have to, who knows

Apparently Edmonton has been looking for a 2nd rounder for Puijujarvi or however its spelled. I can't believe someone hasn't taken them up on that. I realize he hasn't materialized out there but i gotta think if you gave him a fresh start on a team that needs players he could find new life, imo he's no more of a gamble than an actual 2nd rounder. I dont think we are that team, maybe a team like San Jose or Arizona

Nah, Puljujarvi couldn't produce with McDavid and/or Draisaitl, and is overpaid for what he is currently. I'd do a 3rd or 4th for 50% retained, but that's my max there

Not everyone can play with players like that, Crosby is an a great example of a guy who needs a certain type of player, Panarin as well. As i said before we arent the team he needs but he definitely needs a change. He needs a reset, i don't believe he's anywhere as bad as he's been, his skill set is better than that.

I have been harping on this for a bit. I think Puljujaarvi, once he gets out of Edmonton, is going to carve out a nice middle-6 career for himself. He has all of the tools to be a player just like Lehkonen in Colorado except he has more size. I don't think he'll ever approach 60+ points no matter who he is playing with but asking for him to be responsible with the puck, put up 35-40 points and drive possession? I think that's completely in the realm of possibility.

I wouldn't trade a 2nd, but the second the price dropped to a 3rd I'd be game. The only concern I have is re-signing him as he is a RFA with a high qualifying offer. If it was known whether he would be open to taking less than his QO ahead of the trade I'd be more interested.

I agree, i think expectations were to high by himself and the team for this to work out.

Depends on how long this contract is...if its 6 or 7 years its something to be concerned with. If its 4 im ok with it, i dont see him being healthy beyond that, similar to whats happening to Gallagher now.

You are missing the point - it’s about all the prior years of constant cries and moans in these parts when Lafreniere and Kakko were in their D+1 / D+2 years and were treated quite similarly.
My last paragraph addresses that. The majority now was the few then. Don’t lump us all into one group.

I'm worried about his double hip surgery he had a couple of season ago. Hip surgeries are no good for hockey players.

Developing the kids is vital and he isn’t showing enough interest in it, so yeah.

Isn’t Arizona firm on 2 firsts for chychrun alone? Let alone with retention.
Also god that puts domi in the top 6. That’s a nightmare.

I dont think you can retain more than 50% unless a 3rd team gets involved.

If he played like this with the Rangers, he'd still be here.
You mean ‘if he were played’. He doesn’t allocate icetime, pick his linemates, or decide who dresses. Reaves laid out plenty as a Ranger. He was top-5 in the league for hits/60 while with us this season.

You think 35 year old Reavo found a new gear in Minneapolis? Lawd!

Miller is significantly better than Lindgren right now and has been for a while.
No he’s not.

Miller has a ton more potential, but lindgren plays a more consistent game and makes far few mistakes.

Lindgren wont make a big play like miller, but he will make the right play much more often

Yes he is.

It's not only big plays, Miller does a better job with the little stuff too. Lindgren is a warrior and a solid player, but hes incredibly limited and benefits greatly from his partner (who has been back to his God-like self this season and it really doesn't get talked about enough because this place isn't happy unless its miserable.) Miller-Fox, in the almost hour they've spent on the ice together, has been pretty f***ing fantastic (Fox in general, has been better away from Lindgren.)

This is no disrespect to RL who has been way better this year than he was last year, but lets not get it twisted. Lindgren would be getting absolutely caved if he had to carry around a hampered Trouba where as K'Andre has pretty much kept them respectable.

I don't know, he basically had to be dragged into a fight here imo, he seems more willing to go the extra mile now.

He was not playing with the same kind of jam he is currently playing with in Minnesota. Absolutely not.

Miller also pinches at the worst times and lets up the big play far more often. He actually makes alot of horrible reads but has enough speed and athleticism to cover up.

He hangs his partner out to dry and has lot of turnovers in the rush.

Lindgren is slow and steady and knows his role and limitations. Like i said he wont make the big play, but he will rarely give up the big play.

I think are rating millers potential instead of his overall play. Last year he was alot better. This year not so much.

So they're not horrible reads then are they? If he can get away with it, he can get away with it. Its why he applies pressure so high up the ice and its what makes him effective.

Lindgren doesn't carry ANY of the transition responsibilities on his pair. Literally has the LOWEST attempt rate on the team because he has Fox carry nearly all of the load there. He's made plenty of mistakes this year too but I guess they're not as big of a deal bc he hits people. Again I think Lindgren has been better this season than he was last year, but the narrative would be MUCH different if he were tasked with playing with Trouba instead of Fox.

Miller has been better and it really hasn't been that close. I don't really see a "tail off" in his play this year. His partner has been bad, hes been mostly good (and pretty terrific of late.)
