There is a nice list of players I would love to add to the bottom 6.

Foligno
Jenner
Coleman
Goodrow
Wennberg
Bonino
Saad
Schwartz
Palmieri
Glendening
Perreault
Cizikas
Bozak
Boyle
Haula
Brassard
Martinook
Paquette
Stepan
Kuraly
Nash

Bottom line is there are a lot of options and they should be able to fine good value at good prices.

Yep and if you have something like Eichel/Zibanejad as your 1-2 its much easier to choose bottom 6 centers out of here as opposed to having Zibanejad/Strome. Yes Strome has put up points playing with Panarin recently and he's not horrible at all, but he's still super easy to play against, not great defensively and doesn't win face offs either.

If they do get Eichel while having Zibanejad for at least next year, they will need to save where they can while adding to that bottom 6. You add Eichel and someone like Foligno is immediately off the table. But can they get Goodrow and Coleman? They would have to be shipping out Buch and/or Strome to fit Eichel. Maybe they can get a young center on the cusp of breaking through such as Newhook/Krebs/Lundell to have as a fall back in case they have to move on from Zibanejad. For next year they replace Buch/Strome with Eichel and less flashy but heavier players to play against.

I think if we are lucky enough to draft Raty, he makes the team out of camp. And if they gamble on L’Heurreux I believe he would have a chance all be it a long one. Our current Center depth is lacking.
0% chance that's happening. Raty's fall from grace was for a reason, and I'm a fan of his. An 18 year old with 0 years of experience playing center at the NHL level isn't going to fix what ails the Rangers, unless he's Beniers.

I’m worried that Raty is on the board at our pick but we instead pick someone not projected in the 1st round.

I'd move Kakko for plenty of guys including Draisaitl, Makar, Marner, Matthews, ect ect

I just wouldn't trade him for Eichel. Especially not in a package for Eichel.

He's right on the verge of breaking out.
Matthew Tkachuk?

Matthew Tkachuk?

I would not move Kakko for Tkachuk. I was being tongue in cheek when I said I’d only do it for “like, McDavid,” but the list is still very short. Matthews and Mackinnon are certainly on the list as well. Tkachuk is not.

I disagree with this 100%. This team is going to live or die with their wingers which is totally fine. They're going to need to be the ones to carry this team through. If they're not able to we're f***ed, with or with out Eichel.

Eichel doesn't really put this team over the top either and he will cost more than both of those guys (amongst other options) both in assets and dollars (which will limit this team's ability to fill other holes.)

I've always liked Eichel, but I totally agree. The Rangers should be targeting a 3 zone center without flashy offensive numbers. Our offense will be generated from the wings for the next few years, cultivate it instead of fighting it.

A bit nutty, but on the topic of acquiring elite Cs (who also have recent serious injury issues), how about throwing Pettersson an offer sheet?

He has 1 year left on his current contract. His QO will be 8.4 mil. He could sign his QO and then be UFA the following year. Or he could go to arbitration, take the 1 year award, and be UFA.

I think Tkachuk is RFA status for 4 more years. He's only 23. UFA requires a player to be 27 AFAIK (excluding group 6 UFA). He'll be 27 for summer 2025 free agency.

you can hit UFA status after 7 seasons or 27 years of age....Matthew was in the NHL at 18. he's played 5 seasons. he has 1 year left on his deal...then if he signs a 1 year deal, that would take him to 7 making him a UFA at 25

I think that despite the drastic move by Dolan and the statements, Drury will avoid massive turnover. They had numerous hurdles, like other teams did, but improvement will come from the youth and a normal year out of Panarin and Zibanejad. Address the sandpaper and identity on the bottom 6 spots. Obviously a big move is likely with Buchnevich. Target a #3 center that plays tough and defensively.

I don't see them shipping out Mika and Strome, trading Buchnevich away, trading Kakko or Kravtsov, and adding Eichel, punishing types, a steadying LD type, a 200 ft center, etc. That's too much for one season. That's too complicated to find that many compatible partners under this league climate.

If the Rangers are smart they’ll trade Strome this summer while his value is at its highest and move Chytil up 2C and get a 3C that is a bit more defensively responsible

That said I’m sure Zibanejad and Chytil will get moved and somehow Strome will stay
