The sabres don’t want to rebuild again though they want nhl players.

after the year Strome and Buchnevich just had I’d have to think they’d both be part of the offer to Buffalo along with a first round pick in 2021 which is the year to trade it.

And wouldn’t be surprised if Jones is part of that too

Something stinks here and all signs point to both Sather AND Drury.

If there really was an issue with the "culture" and Drury has been around long enough to have been an integral part of building that culture, how is it that when the dust settles JG and JD are gone and CD gets both spots with that overrated POS Sather consulting.

Sather has to be the most overrated front office guy the NHL has ever seen.

Drury is here because of perceived value. When Buffalo, Florida, and Pittsburgh owners are constantly knocking on your door to interview the guy, from Dolan's perspective Drury is a hot commodity and must be good. It's no different than the managerial decisions he made with the Knicks, which is a shame because hiring JD was about the sanest decision Dolan has made in 20+ years.

Sather never left, he has been consultant since Gorts officially took the reigns. However, I'm sure he was more in the shadows and not actually consulted with until Dolan had a reason to, which revolved around how the end of this season played out.

My wife is considering the same surgery (conceptually since I don’t know which vertebrae of jacks are in question). For her it’s a nerve compression issue and there are 2 basic approaches depending on several factors, disc inserts or fusion. There are pros and cons but the point being is that we’re told there is a 6 month recovery period to resume contact athletic activity (my wife does martial arts), I imagine even more for pro hockey. Just sayin

no dummy, they want the fruits of our entire rebuild, 2 of Kakko, Lafreniere, Kravtsov, and some want Fox+ and then some 1st round picks, maybe a Buchnevich or a Strome to even out salary. Dru has the old offer Gorton gave to Buffalo. Dru needs to hold on that, throw in an extra pick.

Everyone is trying to connect a bunch of dots scattered around MSG by irrational, spoiled man-baby, owner. This was personal. Maybe he was really mad seeing the Islanders and Caps manhandle a depleted team but then why keep a guy who was on the same page as the two guys that got shown the door? And thank God Sather is back and the only person standing in the way of this team and Dolan.

I mean, we really don’t know much of anything. Maybe Drury took issue with some of the same stuff Dolan is angry about and just got overridden by his superiors? Maybe not and it’s just nonsense but we don’t know really anything

It'd be Nils. It almost has to be.

And one or Kravtsov/Chytil to go along with Strome or Buchnevich. I don't see both of them going in one deal for one player.

FWIW, I wouldn't do it. The injuries are an issue.

combined with the last Vogl tweet above, it sounds like management knows the time to trade Eichel is now, long before his NMC kicks in, during the off season when they can move a $10M contract so they are refusing him the option for surgery if the recovery time is as severe as you mentioned.

That is the other end of disc surgery. When I had mine, it was the removal of some of the disc and 6 weeks of recovery. However, mine was lower back. Neck is a different world. Rangers would need to do lots of due diligence if they are even considering a trade. Personally, I would steer clear for many reasons. This is just one more on an already existing pile, for me.

I maintain that it seems to me part of this analysis is that Drury was viewed as an up and comer and Dolan didn't want to lose him.

Especially when he goes out and says at a press conference "We didn't progress as fast as I thought we should," and then ten seconds later Drury says we are maintaining the course on the rebuild.

I guess. But I'm willing to bet Dolan regrets firing JD today.

That's a pretty damn good offer. I'd kill to move Kreider instead of Buch. Regardless, the Rangers have so many assets and can deal from a position of strength. Cap also works out itself if you move to mid-salary players like that. Maybe toss in ADA for good measure.

Strome, Buch, Zach Jones and a first would be a sizeable haul for them and also not terrible value for us.
