I only care about where Thornton and Shattenkirk go for free agency. Don't care about many others.

Can't wait to see all the hot takes on Twitter tomorrow. Will be real good.

Edit: Jagr too. Gotta see where the Ageless Wonder lands.

It's just a sick HF fantasy that doesn't go away. Deliberately be the worst team in the league, draft six generational talents, and win ten Cups.

How did it work for Edmonton? They were unwatchable for ten years and still no Cups.

Blowing it up has worked once ever, and that's because Pittsburgh got handed Crosby in a scripted draft.

I always love how no one mentions Tampa either. Gettinng the elite talent is one thing, but they need support and then there's a whole nother level of **** you need to happen to win the Cup.

I agree. They have a solid core and seem to be - smartly - shedding the bad contracts.
I don't expect Shattenkirk unless he takes a team-friendly deal. They'll get a good backup goalie and some young depth guys with upside. Maybe they take a flier on Jimmy Hayes now too.
I would be happy with this. Stay the course. Rome wasn't built in a day. Swoop in where value appears available.

Exactly. Stamkos 1st overall, Hedman 2nd overall, Drouin 3rd overall, also had a 6th and a 10th very recently, and Tampa is a ****ing MESS.

Average defense corps, abysmal forward corps, cap trouble, and no direction.

Another failed collection of lottery picks to go along with the Oilers, Islanders, Avalanche, Coyotoes, Blue Jackets, Panthers, and Sabres. But oh, Pittsburgh won the Cup, (with two generational talents we have a one in a thousand chance of getting even if we pick 1st every year) so let's blow it up.

NHL seems kind of quiet compared to the NBA this offseason. Major stars are being traded like crazy in the NBA the last 2 weeks.

Btw wouldn't mind Jagr coming back for his swan song. He'd be good on the pp. rangers could use that.

True but some pretty big names went to teams that were not great. They may become greater with them though.

I think its time for the Oilers to sell us Conor for 150 mill and 5 draft picks.

Wouldn't be surprised if we were hoping to sign a replacement first. I'd love Jagr or wolliams on this team cheap.

Anyone heard any Yakupov rumors? He'd be an interesting guy to take as a replacement for Nash. Bit of a lotto ticket

I think anyone that wants can have him now. Think he might like Van. van is actually staying busy.
 
so on nhl Network kevin weeks just said theres a 7 yr deal on the table for shatty from an easter conf. team- nj devils.

and two 4 yr deals out there from the nyr and tampa.

all at 6.5 to 7 per year.

i guess it comes down to the term.

still say he comes here for the 7 mil x 4 offer.

if thats the deal, i welcome him with open arms
