Ok all jokes aside

If we offer sheeted draisatl at 8 million, do the oilers really match? 19 million in space currently with Kassian this year as well.

If they match, they're down to 11 million in space (excluding kassian) for:
McDavid, Nurse, Strome, Caggiula ++++ for next year.
What's the number floating around McDavid? 14M? Sure that's high but I think he takes a minimum of 10M home.

So therefore, I don't see anyway they get a deal done with Draisatl. JG, come on now!

They're matching that, easily.

McD will get $10-12M.

Don't think he's greedy and he wants to win. So probably 8 years @ $10-10.5M.

They'd match anything on both players and trade/buyout another player before losing Drai and McDavid.

No one will offersheet them, almost never happens. The GM's doesn't operate like that. Too much respect and stuff.

Look at Vegas. Could've screwed Minnesota over. Instead made a deal for Haula and Tuch.

Hayes, Miller, Zucc, McD, Kreider, Nash. I'd explore trades based around any of them to bring in a C or RHD.

Hayes, Miller, and Nash, for sure. I hesitate to make calls on Zuccarello. I'd never trade McDonagh or Kreider short of absurd overpayment.

Like, a little more than we got for Stepan

It's not the Rangers way, but I'd go all out and offer him 10x10.

Not feasible. Longest term the Rangers could offer would be 7 years. and I'm not paying Drai 10 million a year. I'd go 7-9, but wouldn't be extremely comfortable doing so.

Someone is going to give Bonino stupid money on the open market.

He's a good player and he can keep up with the system.
I wouldn't break the bank to obtain him but he's earned a decent paycheck.
Any team can use a player like him.

Would hate to keep shipping forwards out, but I wonder if there's something to be explored around Miller for Ellis.

Now this would be something worth talking about.

Then again, it would also require us to bring in another center because Miller is the 2C insurance policy as it stands.

You aren't wrong but that's not how free agency works.

Someone is going to give him more money than the role he plays justifies and they are going to regret it. Happens every year. I'll be shocked if he signs for cap hit under 4.5

Do I ever post things not worth talking about? :sarcasm:

You defended Girardi once two years ago.

I have a long memory :sarcasm:

Truth. At this point, I'd be surprised if we don't bring in Jumbo to play with Nash for the year.

Jesus, they would never leave the offense zone but it would take them 10 minutes to skate there :help:

You're probably right.
That's a bit high but if they can work out a 2-3 year deal that's reasonable, he'd be an asset

If Skjei is for real the real deal no bambozled coaxing us into a snafu then McD is expendable given his age and value as a trade asset. Graves looks like he could probably slot into the top-4 eventually. Depending on the return I'm definitely thinking about it. Kreider would probably have to be an overpayment. I love Zucc but again, for the right offer.

Shattenkirk 6-7 years @$6.5M.

Free asset, paired with McDonagh would be great.

We.got the capspace and then some.

If the direction of the team is to get younger and retool, I hate the idea of giving KS that kind of term. Even if he is the perfect fit.

You could conceivably pay someone like Bonino on a shorter-term higher cap-hit deal as a 'stop gap' (we've down this road before...) until Andersson is ready. 3-4 years at $5.5m with the intent being he plays year 1 and 2 as a 2nd line C and years 3-4 as a #3 C once Anderson comes over. The whole time he's here Andersson is on an ELC so you are looking at $7m total for 2 of your top 3 C.
It's not a plan I'm in favour of but it is a potential solution if there are no trades out there for centres

Yeah, I'm one of those weird people who tries to educate their opinions and then changes them when facts to the contrary are brought to the front-lines. Crazy thing :D

Assuming the contract isn't absurd, it's not a move I'd hate.

Jumbo is seeking 3 years... :help:

Wait, really?

Ew.

If you believe Pagotta of 4th period he is... I dunno how reliable he is, haven't heard from other more reliable ones about Thornton at all.. I'd take him on a 1 year deal one year deals are never ever a bad deal, no matter what..

Bonino is going to try to get as much term as he possibly can

So.. everyone hated my retool?

Machinehead, yeah.. you'll have to find yourself another GM i guess.

Got to go it's 03.50 am over here in Sweden.

See ya later guys and girls, night.

You obviously didn't trade enough core pieces for futures :sarcasm:

This is HF where you sell your yacht for a 50/50 chance at getting a yacht.

P.s i need a new pic and more importantly a new nickname. Feel free to send me suggestions. CaptainCally is a few years outdated , haha.

Wait a minute, people are against Shattenkirk but want to sign Bonino? a 4M 3rd line center or a 6M top RHD?... geez tough one.
