I'd rather investigate Justin Williams than Oshie at this point.

i like this esp if they can turn a winger into our temporary stepan replacement, he lives down the jersey shore so i think he will be looking to sign locally, should be cheap, good leadership for our new young guys.

I would absolutely 100% flip #21 + Staal for E. Kane

And i'd be doing backflips the entire time.

E.Kane, for all his warts, is a perfect fit for AV hockey. Marc Staal..for all his positives (and he does have many), is an absolute abomination for AV hockey.

I'd give up an asset to do that trade.

Heck, if they want us to keep 21 and just eat half his contract, id be fine doing that as well.

I want nothing to do with Oshie and Shattenkirk. Good players but the Rangers are going in a direction that shouldn't include signing 29/31 year olds to 6-7 contracts

This team should start unloading guys IMO.

Nash and Zucc should be next. Maybe not this offseason, but def by the deadline next year.

Very much this. We need another right handed dman even if we re-sign Smith, but I want no part of Shattenkirk.

Open to all of this... I'm more than OK with assembling a package of both 1st rounders to Colorado for MacKinnion... For Duchene, I'd send just a single 1st rounder + a mid-tier prospect (they can have Graves).

Outside of that, I like your draft choice ideas

like your moves, only problem is i think with stepan off the table by default the duchene bid increases, gotta think carolina, nashville, montreal, and possibly columbus is on this train as well. would love for a mackinnon trade hell id throw in one of our wingers

I expect Deangelo to play on the second pair and attaached at the hip to Staal..

Mcdonagh-Skeji
Staal-Deangelo
Holden-Smith

I can't imagine why Smith would be bottom pair. I also don't want Staal in the top 4. I'd rather go with something like:

McD-Smith
Skjei-Holden
Staal-DeAngelo

DeAngelo has yet to play a full season in the NHL. He's only 21. He probably isn't ready to play top 4 minutes.

Of course, I think we are still in the market for another top 4 RHD that can push Holden to #7 and Kampfer to #8 (assuming Klein retires).

Don't think Skjei will be playing onthe right...

McDonagh-Shattenkirk/Smith
Skjei-DeAngelo (this reminds me of that Skjei-Clendo pairing that looked nice)
Staal-Beargloves
Holden
Graves
Kampfer
Pionk

I think they're going to move another D. I would do many things to get Staal off this roster

Considering the $ they lost with Hjallmerson and Hossa gone, if the NYR retain, they could fit nash.

Would retain 50% on Nash's contract and Chicago would pay through the nose to do it. They need cheap depth options with short term commitments because of the two mega contracts on their roster--Nash is only for a year, and if they try to move Hossa to Zona for cap space, then Nash would be a perfect slot in.

NYR have $26M in cap space right now if Klein retires. If they move Staal at 50% instead that would be almost $29M in cap space.

Still sending out positive vibes to Dale Tallon...you want Marc Staal, you want Marc Staal...

Has florida made any moves yet?

As much as I want this to happen... not today. Please. The DeAngelo thread is bad enough to keep on track. If we got Kane too this board would ****ing implode.

In all seriousness, I would also do backflips. That would be so big for this team.

Where'd you get 26? I have 23 with Klein retirement, 20 without
