We cleared what 5.7m of cap space with this deal. How many trades made he last gen years has a team cleared that much? It ain't many.

Gotta think Stepans replacement-- Pettersson, Glass, Mitelstadt, Necas and then they go dman at 21 Brannstrom, Foote, Timmins

They should look to unload Holden for a pick too. Still think another shocker is in store. Zucc for Galchenyuk?
 
I dont see a fit here for Oshie. Also im weary of his body breaking down sooner rather than later with the type of game he plays

$7.5M in cap space cleared.

Assuming Kinkaid signs for $600k, that's $6.9M in cap space cleared plus an NTC dropped from the roster.

Open to all of this... I'm more than OK with assembling a package of both 1st rounders to Colorado for MacKinnion... For Duchene, I'd send just a single 1st rounder + a mid-tier prospect (they can have Graves).

Outside of that, I like your draft choice ideas

At this point we have enough cap space to
Sign Shattenkirk
Sign Dadonov
Sign Oshie
Sign Ziba long term

Imagine the possibilities if we add those 3, draft a center:
Nash-Ziba-Buch
Dadonov-Hayes-Oshie
Kreider-???-Miller
Vesey-Nieves- Zucc
Grabner, Fast don't fit too well
McD-Shatty
Skjei-DeAngelo
Staal-Bereglazov
 
IF (a big if) they are not interested in Shattenkirk, than I have no idea what they are doing with the cap space

Again though, I'll believe they don't want Shattenkirk when I see it
 
I would like to see Staal dealt

I'm very open to Evander Kane. Downside is that he is in the last year of RFA. His contract expires next offseason where he'll be a UFA, and with the season he just had he could very well command $6M

Sabres Goalie Prospect Cal Petersen is going to Free Agency. Rangers should get in on him. He'd get to work with the best goalie coach in the world.

Galchenyuk would probably cost Nash/Zucc. Would definitely do Nash @ 50% retained for Gally plus a 5th

I want nothing to do with Oshie and Shattenkirk. Good players but the Rangers are going in a direction that shouldn't include signing 29/31 year olds to 6-7 contracts
