Serious question, what is Strome's floor? Does anyone think he won't make an effect at the NHL level? I would say his floor is about 45-50 points. That's Hayes production. Probably a high end of 70. That's the ideal guy to come back in a deal for Stepan. Add in their 7th overall and the Rangers can add a second good piece. A player 7th overall shouldn't take more than 3 years to be ready. Most likely less.

I hope Gorton is smart enough to maximize Raanta.

Nash should be dealt tomorrow. This team has enough wingers. Buch. Vesey. MZA. Miller. Grabner. Fast. That's the top-9 wingers. That's assuming they don't add a winger in any deal or sign one.

I think Stromes floor is a Euro league star. Hes top 6 or bust so if he can't hack it on the top 2 lines, he won't be in the NHL long term.

Ceiling is Spezza.

Floor: Larkin's current state
Ceiling: Jeff Carter with a better shot

lol every day mckenzie claims that tomorrow is the big day for trades, then the next day nothing happens and he claims that tomorrow is the big day for trades. its almost like he just wants people refreshing his twitter and tsn all day long.

if larry brooks or zipay did this we'd be ripping them apart for it

GM deserves to hire his coach, don't think this takes them out of Stepan since the reporters have said Chayka is the one that wants to be active.

They have to wait for things to happen too ya know

Hmmm, is Chayka going to hire a young coach? We've seen some new faces get hired for their first NHL head coaching jobs in Green, Boughner and Housley.

Isn't Chakya Khan the one that described Stepan to a T last week? I'd say that Tippett being gone has minimal to no effect on a potential Stepan trade.

From Amanda's IG story, it looked like she interviewed Drury as well, and possible Birdie (said she did 3 interviews for pre-draft stuff).

So I imagine those will be released tomorrow.

It has zero impact.

Disagree

Bobbop has said a trade could be affected depending on who was calling the shots, Tippett, or Chayka

I'd much rather make a deal with a team that has an idiot with some pull, like Tippett, than a guy like Chayka, who is not an idiot

Basically, what I am saying is, I believe the Rangers would get a better deal in a trade with Arizona if Tippett was still involved

I don't have any first hand knowledge (I am on vacation) but I have felt all along that Tippett was pushing for trades like a potential Stepan deal and the front office was resisting. I think this all but kills any chance of something big happening with AZ. Sorry guys.

At this point I have to wonder where AZ is headed. They are $20MM under the salary cap and no free agent with any options is signing there. I'm sure they will hire a coach but again, a lot of experienced hockey people will be very wary of that job. Guessing they might get a Marc Crawford (4th team type of guy) Tippett has held this thing together under almost unimaginable conditions over the past several years and Doan and Smith were his key lieutenants. Their entire leadership structure is gutted.

Even with the GMs declarations of wanting a right handed center the other day?
