Are you @brandonco4?

Gotta give credit where credit is due.

If we re-sign Smith, there is no point in having Brodin. They are the same.

IMO Brodin is better and more proven than Smith. More potential to develop his game more too, and that's not a knock on Smith since I think he's great. Don't want to trade for Brodin though. I'm in thr Dumba and Kunin camp; Kunin lit up college in his sophomore year and then had a really nice stint in the AHL. I see a really good NHLer very soon there.

Also, shocked no one posted this yet. Maybe I missed it

Oh my God, we're having a fire.... Sale! Amazzzzzing grace. So much speculative teasing. Just give us the trades already.

If we trade doughrook and don't acquire a Duchene caliber center, Mika is going to get paid large

Arizona’s most abundant assets are prospects and draft picks, trade pieces that could certainly close deals.

Both would seem to be intriguing to teams up against the cap because of the relief they’d receive for parting with an established NHLer for a cheaper prospect or picks. And that’s a tradeoff that could also help the Coyotes, who need to take on a nearly $7 million cap-hit to reach the floor if the parameters go unchanged.

They also have expressed a need for what Tippett called “better good players,†pros that can support the growth of the team’s young core by making a difference. Many of the players expected to be available in the trade market seem to fit that bill and satisfy an age group – mid-20s – that the Coyotes are lacking.

The downside, however, to prospects and picks is that they’re unproven assets.

In recent years, the Coyotes have accumulated a talented pool of young players, but it can be difficult to project if/when these players will be successful in the NHL. This can lead to riskier trades and potentially lopsided returns.

Winger Anthony Duclair has been linked to trade rumors in the past, but Chayka called Duclair an important player. It’s possible the former 20-goal scorer still merits interest, but his value has likely dropped after a terrible 2016-17 in which he managed just five goals and was at one point demoted to the minors.

“I think they missed the boat on what they could have gotten earlier in the year, which would have been probably a second-round pick,†the league source said. “I don’t think you can get higher than a fourth-rounder for him now, at best.â€

I would bring the Duke back in a smaller deal.

Arizona has some nice forward prospects and has a couple of first rounder this year. That would be a nice way to restock the system pretty quickly.

In saying that, no defensemen really?

OEL. But they're not moving him

That's kind of my point. They can get a good young center back. Strome or Dvorak + picks maybe. Possibly Arizona moves their 1st this year which is #7. The Rangers can get a good young player there or trade down and add a pick.

I'm not sure it's as strong of a deal as one centered around Dumba though.

They wouldn't possibly be shopping Chychrun would they?

They have Chychrun, Murphy, and OEL. OEL isn't moving and neither is Chychrun. The only young RHD is Connor Murphy. They have young C plus picks so it'd likely be a bit of everything package.

Maybe Arizona is more open to parting with a center prospect than their fans are. Supposedly the Rangers interviewed Makar at the combine. Perhaps that #7 pick is in play to get him?

I'd do Stepan, Raanta, and #21 for Strome, #7 and #35.

I am beginning to warm up to the idea of signing Shattenkirk and Smith. If they trade Stepan for a few younger pieces they should have the cap room.

I will say that I'd be pretty pissed if Gorton traded Stepan and then didn't trade Nash this offseason. Even if they have to retain salary here should be a taker.

Good find RB.

And MAJOR probs to Bobbop. Basically said AZ could push for Stepan bc Tippett wants to bring in some young-sh vets to try to win.

It's comforting to know that Bobby Marg said "multiple teams with serious interest". Nice to know this isn't a Rick Nash pennies on the dollar situation.

That's the only thing that makes sense to me. If they bring in Stepan and they have Domi, Dvorak and Strome where does everyone play? Trading one of them makes sense if they get Stepan. They also have Minnesota's pick correct?

We have cap space already. 18 million assuming Klein retires.
That's
4 for smith
6-7 for Shatty
5 for Mika
2 for Lindberg/Fast
