He went public sure, but it wasn't a statement on the situation or a tweet through his agent. He was likely just asked a question and answered it. Pretty diplomatically, I would say.

That's gonna follow suit, maybe even from all three guys. If the Rangers try to stick with this for the rest of the season that's basically asking for trouble. Goalies can deal with working the bench door but they won't be happy if they have to share their net in practice or watch games from the pressbox. I can promise you that.

who is to say somebody would want him.

His non-verbal body language after many goals is awful. He looks to the sky as if in disbelief that he should have made the save. How appealing it that? It’s like an admission he’s old, can see the puck yet can’t make the save.

Colorado would definately take him, I mean we have to retain half no matter what so at 4.25 mill next year he isnt a bad option.

Maybe. But right now all that's happened is Georgiev, when asked, has said he prefers to be on the bench than in the pressbox.

Or, actually getting to the net to deflect those pucks.

I have repeatedly stated I'm less concerned about ages 29-32 as I am from 32-36. His elite talent has to do with his speed, size and strength combination. Those are physical attributes. Often times, those physical attributes are the ones that fail faster than say, elite hockey sense or playmaking.

5 years is my absolute max I'd go. That's non-negotiable for me. I also don't see the need to go above $6.5m per season. If he wants more, I'm sure he will get it in free agency but I'd be totally content trading him for assets and avoiding that $7m x 7 year contract other teams will be offering.
I’m a little disappointed. We would gladly re-up you for 8 years without question!

Edge...what do you think of a UFA like Muzzin for the left side if we move Skjei ? Too expensive salary and term wise do you think ? I also think Kreider will get more than 49 Million on a 7 year deal . He easily enough will get 53 .

Muzzin in 2020 doesn’t do much for me. If we didn’t have Staal I’d consider him on a one year contract as a replacement, but I can’t say his likely contract entices me to sign him.

Another team to keep an eye on in the goalie carousel is Vancouver. Markstrom wants top dollar, and they really like Demko. They'd lose Thatcher in the expansion draft. But Markstrom is a proven number 1 now. Not elite, but league average without a top tier backend.

They also have $3M a year against Luongo hitting their cap and need to re-sign Petterson and Hughes next year.

In other words- they can get outbid for Markstrom and have a hole in their line-up.

I’m going to throw a flag on the play here.

Bob and I may have different opinions on Kreider, but he’s not one to throw junk out there.

I am personally in favor of moving Kreider, and I think the odds are still in favor of his being moved, but I also acknowledge there is a path to him coming back — especially if the contract terms come down.

If I was Henrik, I would want to go to Columbus. They play a system that is air tight, and really favors the goaltending. That's a good hockey club over there with a lot of depth.

CLB has had a lot of injuries, and guys have found roles for themselves, and that allows them some flexibility. Elvis is their number 1 now. He's the real deal. Korpisalo played well enough to get an all-star nod.

CLB doesn't need a goalie, but it would be the best fit for Hank. At this stage in his career, he needs to play on a team that plays a tight defensive system.

Yeah but Columbus is never winning the cup in the next 2 years. He’s not gonna waive for there.

The best fit for him is Colorado.

Look I haven't engaged in the trade Tony talks because I think it's one of the dumbest things the team could do. It's always a matter of the return, but you would have to be completely overwhelmed to make a trade. Otherwise you don't move an asset that you will have a very difficult time replacing.
