Brooks wants hockey to go back to the 90's rather than adjust to what hockey is now. He understands what its doing, he just chooses to ignore it.

I dont think you can make any big decisions until you see some of the kids play under a new coach.
I expect Strome and Buch to be moved. IMO that's where I'd stop for now... ( Unless there's a Barkov type player available )

He wants to recreate Tampa's 3rd line.
His player evaluation is off though. We may have the horses for it already, we'd have to see how they look under Gallant.

The insiders have gone radio silent. Very little has come out tonight. Bettman is definitely not happy after the entire expansion roster was given out during the day on twitter. He lost an audience because of it.
Now, he's going to make sure people watch the draft. I wouldn't expect anything until after 4 tomorrow. Build up anticipation and that you may have to watch the draft to know the trades.
The NHL needs better ratings for ESPN. They need to make up for yesterday somehow.

I'm not caught up in the names of lines as much as the 'balance' of the team. We're not there yet.
If we're using Tampa as the example... We got Goodrow... now we, stylistically, need a Gourde, Coleman and Killorn. Can Kreider fill one of those roles? Maybe Chytil?
Either way, even with Goodrow, I truly believe we need another 2way, gritty, middle6 player. Call them a bottom6 player, tweener, middle6, checking line etc... Whatever it is, we need another one.

Would be highly unusual for Gallant to bring a guy on his staff who was a serious contender for his job, but how many teams still have assistant coaching openings? Highest paid assistant could only be a couple of teams. Though I guess it's past tense so it could be the Leafs.
