Right? I have high hopes for Igor but hes done nothing to deserve a 5 year/6 mil AAV contract based off of 2 shortened seasons. If his agent is going to try to bend the Rangers over a barrel with the contract, id sooner include him in an Eichel deal, then trade for MAF or Lehner

Is Brooks suggesting Kravtsov will be moved as well? If Lafreniere moves to the Right Wing, after Buch is traded, it still creates issues with Kravtsov.

It'd work. It wouldn't work as a matchup checking line is what he meant... but as they say, the best defense is a good offense. That line should be a forechecking nightmare for opposing teams 3rd pair.

The Kreider contract is just a bad contract. It's not the end of the world. We don't have to shape the entire roster around Chris Kreider because he apparently melts if he's placed on a third line.

Does brooks realize that goodrow is likely on our fourth line?
Brooks doesn't really also seem to get that you dont have 2 checking lines anymore...

Also the comparison for a shesty contract is Vasilevskiy. Post elc he signed a 3 year 10.5m deal. He was a younger than shesty so slightly further from UFA. But he'd also had a better couple seasons.

Kreider-Goodrow-Barron.. There's your checking line that can play physical, forecheck, create energy, etc.. Rangers dont have to move 62 players around Brooks.

could even throw Chytil in there instead of Kreider if Kreider is playing top 6 (if someone moves to the right to replace Buchnevich)

Brooks would probably trade Buchnevich for Deslauriers because he thinks smashmouth hockey is the only way to win.

When we played those Islander games and got beat up physically and also got shut out we were missing Kreider, Trouba AND Lindgren who all can play a sort of physical game. That surely did not help at all.
