I mean Im' not totally thrilled about acquiring Goodrow like that, and also kind of feel like again maybe they should have just kept Fast...

But if they keep it to one guy then I don't think it's a huge issue. Guys like Baron and Rooney and even Gauthier could be developed into quality bottom sixers (well, Rooney is what he is but he can center the 4th line and PK I guess) not to mention some guys like Cuylle, Berard, etc.

So I think if you keep it at just acquiring Goodrow and overpaying a bit and work on bringing along those others guys I mentioned, it's workable. Realistic or not I think the Rangers are hoping to contend within Goodrow's "window" as well

I actually like the player for what I image his role will be, it's more the combination of that cap hit/term/clause with other cap hits/terms/clauses that eventually will make it difficult for the Ranger to contend with other teams who are using their cap space more efficiently.

And yes I agree they are going to go for it, I just have a difficult time seeing that be successful with like 9 players taking up something like 60M, and the rest of the roster basically being comprised of league minimum (or near to) salaried players.

I'd also send Chytil and 15OA to AZ for Dvorak. Plan B for Zib in case he's not here long term.

Pinto and Danault is kind of the same player type, no? Pinto is more interesting to me than signing UFA Danault.
