Buch is better than Horvat too, in every single way except not being a center. If he played center he’d probably still be better than Horvat though as he is way better defensively too. And the Canucks aren’t trading their young captain. That was a Pee Wee Herman & Dumb David special

Thanks, so this season, 21-22 he will be 26 June 30 2022 and then after thr 22-23 season as of June 30 2023 he will be 27, so he'd be a UFA that summer if in thinking of that correctly.

Not likely, but with the cap expected to be flat for the next 3-5 years and with this team set to be a legit contender starting fairly soon, getting paid and playing for a winner has to have some appeal.

This would mean that both CK and JT are traded at 1st opportunity.

Carp is a nice guy, so is Vince. I don't think there's anything to it other than that there's been a regime change in the org and everyone is tightlipped. It's extremely difficult for beat writers to get some information out of the organisation the first few months after a re-shuffle. The same thing happened in 2015 when Gorton took over.

All hype aside, Shesty hasn’t earned an NHL starter’s contract yet. It’s likely that he will, but you don’t give him a starter’s $ just because we don’t have an established starter on the roster.
