It shocks me so many people actually want Eichel. A player with a serious neck injury, that Buffalo has mishandled from the start and also refuses to show interested teams his medical records. Oh you say they aren’t allowed to due to HIPPA laws? Sure, but Eichel can still approve the release of those records and why wouldnt a disgruntled player who wants out not want teams to see these records? (Or maybe he does but the team doesnt?). There isn’t a bigger red flag than that folks. We arent trading for a healthy superstar, we would be trading core players and potentially star players for a huge question mark. PASS.

I haven't located anything that says it is Eichel blocking teams from accessing his medical records. Larry posted today specifically about the Rangers. It's possible that Buffalo is blocking the Rangers from accessing his records and are providing them to other teams of interest, who knows.

well Michael Russo of the Wild said he senses the same thing with them. so unless Buffalo is talking specifically with one team trying to get a deal done (ANA? LAK?) seems to be more than just the Rangers

Kreider-Chytil-Goodrow sounds like a pretty good 3rd line to me. Goodrow can always take the face offs if need be.
I’m still 50/50 on chytil being on this team once the season starts. I know we all like him and he’s got a pretty good upside, but it’s pretty evident at least to me, that Drury and Co. do not want a Zibby-Strome-chytil top 3 centers to start the season. I think strome is gone at draft for a pick. And we all know big 5 aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. That leaves chytil and Buch as the main bait. Nils as the main prospect bait. You have to give to get if you want to upgrade. And as of right now, the 15OA+ Jones isn’t bringing back that guy alone.
Someone mentioned Strome+15 to OTT for 10. That at least makes some sense to me. If MacTavish is there at 10 select him. If not, Buchnevich+ 10OA+ Jones or Chytil+10OA+ Jones is a lot closer to the package that would bring back a legit 2C.
The 15OA+Jones just ain’t going to get it done guys. Not enough value. The more I think about cost and consequences the more I think Dvorak is the answer to our 2C problems. Based solely on cost of assets, age, contract, and style of player we are looking for.

I hope everyone realizes that we are going to see very minimal trades through this week and next. These GMs just don’t like to make trades. Only hype up the potential of them.
Yep and it clearly looks like Eichel isn’t being traded anywhere by the draft tomorrow if no team has seen the medical yet.

I like Chytil, I would trade Kravtsov or Nils before I traded Chytil because I do think Chytil is on the verge of breaking out, but I'm also not sure the Rangers give him that chance so like Nils who is blocked by Fox, Trouba to get to the top pairing, Schneider (who might be blocked by 3) and Kravtsov (who would be blocked by 2 if they kept buchnevich) theoretically all 3 could be worth more to the Rangers in a trade.

Chytil literally just needs to play. The only thing holding back his production is his minutes and lack of PP time. His point totals are artificially limited by his usage, he’s going to pop off when a real coach decides to let him.

Half of you wanted to throw away Buch 2 years ago too when he was snake bitten as all hell.

Yeah, there’s a few. MacDermid is a punching bag who is so bad on D they switched him to wing. Seattle already drafted a massive, tough D and bottom six. They passed on Clague and Grundstrom who are both decent prospects.
While most of this statement is true, MacDermid’s best skill is with the fists. Probably the best in the league. That being said Francis was insane to pass up Clague from the Kings.

But if the Rangers aren't going to give him that chance, why does it make sense to keep him instead of use him as an asset for something they actually might use more of as a center. He might be more valuable, but it doesn't matter if the Rangers wont give him that chance.

I think we should let a grown up coach try before we throw away our most talented center prospect
