Reinhart feels like a better option for a team like Minnesota who wouldn't have to empty all their young players that they would need to ice a team after the Parise/Suter buy outs

tell that to the Yankees and their prospects.. Its not as easy as that. At one point Miguel Andujar and Clint Frazier could have returned Geritt cole they passed on them, and now......

Andujar had one great year. Frazier has always been up and down. Neither has shown a 3-year continuous progress like Chytil has here, and neither is the only prospect of note at their position in the Yankees farm system. The Yankees also don't have to live in a hard cap world, where having cost-controlled players is a necessity. Also, baseball isn't hockey.

I'm pretty stunned by the fact that Francis didn't make a single trade during the ED, made some baffling, unforced choices from 4-5 teams, and has so far announced nothing beyond trading a career 4th liner/spare for a 4th. So much for reports of "several deals in the can" and Francis saying he had "less than you might expect". If you have zero, just say you have zero. Somehow I doubt Pitlick to Calgary for a 4th was something he'd been discussing with Calgary since the day prior. More likely something that happened between Seattle selecting him and the trade taking place.

I felt like Francis was playing checkers while everyone else was playing chess. He left a ton on the table.

Yeah, I have no idea what that team is about. I feel like they could have done way better and still had lots of cap space.

It's almost like they are tanking for a top pick next year.

I would trade Chytil for Eichel..
I would also rather trade Kravtsov than Chytil for Eichel as well.

I would love if the Rangers somehow had Eichel and Chytil.. It doesn't mean Chytil's best position is at center or that Chytil isn't worth more to the Rangers in a trade for someone who IS a center right now. and yes it can backfire.

all of these things can be true.

By the time I got to the 3rd line of this post you had me saying Chychel

I find it funny that 95% of the anti Chytil crowd are pro Eichel.

Curious what you mean - in which ways are the two players related that people should be consistent with their feelings for each? (genuine question, I don't see the connection you're implying)

I'm the opposite - pro Chytil anti Eichel, but those two things have nothing to do with one another.

The people who really want Eichel have gone out of their way to downplay Chytil's progression. Maybe Anti Chytil wasn't the right phrasing.

I've seen it a ton over the last few months. Its resurfaced here a few times in this thread and I'm sure we're going to see a ton of it tomorrow.

now with that said I would rather the Rangers keep Chytil and trade other players instead (especially wingers and defensemen) to upgrade center. I'd love for the Rangers to have Zibanejad, Larkin and Chytil, I'm not sure how realistic it is however

It shocks me so many people actually want Eichel. A player with a serious neck injury, that Buffalo has mishandled from the start and also refuses to show interested teams his medical records. Oh you say they aren’t allowed to due to HIPPA laws? Sure, but Eichel can still approve the release of those records and why wouldnt a disgruntled player who wants out not want teams to see these records? (Or maybe he does but the team doesnt?). There isn’t a bigger red flag than that folks. We arent trading for a healthy superstar, we would be trading core players and potentially star players for a huge question mark. PASS.

Yeah, it makes it even worse when you consider he took some of the names he did willingly. Like dude if your price you set for side deals is so high that no one is interested, maybe change the price?

The Philadelphia pick is probably the one that jumps out as the biggest wtf

like take Hagg and trade him for another asset or something

The NYR Twitter bloggers are so full of shit.

“Been told this...”
“I know that....”
“on good authority we will see player A brought in as soon as...”

Even worse is there are so many people that buy into it
That’s because they have their Twitter following and people that live on Twitter are big time dumb dumbs.

What's funny is that Eichel & Chytil are both insanely underrated on here.
I think Eichel is fairly rated. He’s one of the best players in the league when he’s healthy. Aside from blatantly stupid takes that I’ve seen here, I don’t think many would dispute that.

I don’t think Eichel is underrated. I think offers from here are lower than he’s worth cuz of his current situation plus an extra 10 mill on the cap for 5 years.

Maybe I’m missing some post but I’m not seeing anyone say he’s not a great player or a top 10C in the leauge when healthy

Yeah, there’s a few. MacDermid is a punching bag who is so bad on D they switched him to wing. Seattle already drafted a massive, tough D and bottom six. They passed on Clague and Grundstrom who are both decent prospects. And Quennville is a UFA who would have signed a league min two-way deal if they’d offered him one. Couldn’t they flip Gaudette, DeHaan or Zadorov somewhere, either alone for a 3rd or in a package? Taking a UFA you probably won’t even re-sign is just bizarre. Same with Bayreuther. Career AHLer. Why not take Stenlund who at least has 3/4C potential. Those are the 4 major misses to me.
