I feel like I’ve read 10 different sets of rules regarding trades with Seattle. Why is it so hard for the NHL to make this clear or beat writers to get it straight? It’s really not that hard to say “all trades will be announced after the freeze.”
I like the idea. Wonder if the term would be a non-starter for them.Seems like Seattle is open to weaponizing their cap space, would the Rangers enlist Seattle's help in order to hold some of Eichel's salary, a la Tampa's acquisition of Savard this past season?
He’s been fat for a long timeIt's weird seeing the NHL back on ESPN.
Shawn Kemp got fat.
This means Giordano promptly gave back his Kraken jersey and flew home -- or is catching a redeye here.I think everyone is

your’e crazy. There’s no Kopitar or Doughty on that team, no Couture or Burns, heck no Gibson and Lindholm. They will Finnish dead last with Buffalo guaranteed.

When the chickens are ready to be hatched, we will hatch them. --Frank PurdueThat’s why there is no point engaging in the “But he’s hurt! I would only trade for him if he’s Healthy!” skepticism.
The Rangers doctors know more than anyone here. If they are comfortable that he’ll recover, then we will chase him. If they don’t, then we won’t.
If the Rangers acquire Eichel you can take that as a sure fire sign that someone who knows more about medicine than you said he’s gonna be just fine.
wow Francis really f***ed up. Kraken could be the worst team in NHL history
And they're likely to pick up some cap dumps on the cheap.they have, by my count, 9 nhl-ready forwards, 6 nhl-ready defensemen, and two NHL goalies that can put up 0.92+ save percentages. That is already better than a handful of current NHL teams.
Have to think so. How many teams have retained on a player for 5 seasons?I like the idea. Wonder if the term would be a non-starter for them.
Leafs on Kessel is the only thing that comes to mind.Have to think so. How many teams have retained on a player for 5 seasons?
Was Luongo retained by Van? I think that's another one.Leafs on Kessel is the only thing that comes to mind.
Flash forward, as Eichel sits healing we learn the players surrendered for Eichel could have landed Barkov
Good call. That one was 8+ years of retention. Was Luongo retained by Van? I think that's another one.
If that's it for Eichel, I can live with it. And for the record I am very anti-Eichel, but thats a great deal.
Seravalli right now trying not to leak any trades: View attachment 454759
Well looks like the status quo preserved then.Rangers have talked to Buffalo recently. Opinion was price still hasn’t come down enough as of late this afternoon.
The alternative targets to Goodrow were Glendenning (similar trade discussed) and Cizikas (obviously no trade discussed).
All the usual teams discussed with Strome. The one that hasn’t been mentioned is Columbus.
Seattle supposedly told Detroit they prefer to keep the second pick. This doesn’t kill a Larkin move, but it does throw a wrench into the mix.
Rangers continue to have discussions around trading for a veteran LD.

Wonder what the ask for JE really is. Isn't Buch *and* Chytil is a high price all things considered?
Do you get the feeling there is a deadline imposed on these negotiations from either the Rangers or Buffalo? You would think it’d be draft because Buffalo would want our 1st this year, right?
Can’t speak for Buffalo but I get the sense the Rangers are fine making their pick and even moving on if Buffalo decides to pull a Calgary.
Aside for a couple of horses asses on this board — thank you for sharing what you could man. We wholeheartedly appreciate it.Rangers have talked to Buffalo recently. Opinion was price still hasn’t come down enough as of late this afternoon.

Good to see he calmed down.
He was bugging out earlier.
