Rangers need some kind of long term 1C solution which is what Eichel would be (assuming healthy)
It's that or sign Zibanejad long term. I have doubts about Barkov being available and don't think you can pass on Eichel and signing Zibanejad only to have Barkov stay in Florida, then you're completely f***ed

I worry about the team trying to load up with Eichel and Zib and then trying to bridge the kids. If you move Strome and Chytil, you either need to find another center in addition to Eichel or you're rolling with Zib going forward.

It's definitely complicated and we don't know if they have other ideas in mind, so, gotta just see what happens I guess.

I mean I think Kakko definitely gets bridged now even if he has a real good year next year. Laf, who knows, if has 2 big years in a row then maybe they lock him up long term.
They'd be fools to bridge Fox regardless of the situation elsewhere

Some players are always out, like Stamkos. But you can live with it if he’s a sniping winger. Not a center.

I was advocating Buch, Strome, Jones and 15.

I will miss Chytil… and I was hoping the future 1-2 would be Eichel-Chytil. But I guess if the plan is to retain Zibanejad also I can live with moving Chytil. That one will sting but I guess I’d rather keep Kravtsov and Nils frankly.

My problem is that if we're moving strome, and Chytil, our center depth actually just got worse not better. And we're tighter on the cap.
I am very high on Chytil and would 100% rather include kratsov or lundkvist in that deal.

Our center depth is just fine when your top 2 are Zibanejad and Eichel.

Eichel, Zibanejad (at least for next year), Goodrow, Rooney, Barron, is bad depth? hell they can even pick up someone like Bellemare as a cheap FA center too

Now the following year maybe but if Zib is gone that gives the Rangers some money to find another 2C.

I'd rather keep Chytil too, but I dont think Rangers trade 2 RWs in the same deal.

It will be critical to either 1) resign Zibanejad to a team friendly deal or 2) convince him to waive at the deadline and get f***ing HAUL in return.

NO SELF RENTING. His return would be too massive to pass up.
