Maybe.

I don't know why, but I can't shake the feeling that we're not out on Coleman either.
He has two cup rings so his main focus is probably less on immediate success and more on money, term and quality of life. Him landing somewhere totally unexpected wouldn't shock me. Like Columbus or Anaheim or maybe Seattle. Or what about back in NJ?

I think we are all on agreement that the surplus of wingers on the team forced Drury to trade Buchnevich. I apologize if that is an assumption for the ones who wanted to keep Buch.

What would have been an acceptable trade for Buchnevich and is there anyone (some of the insiders here) know if a team was offering a better trade?

Most of the clamoring here has been that he didn't get a 1st which perplexes me personally. The pick is the part of the deal that bothers me less.

They know what was on deck for this draft, if you don't really like what you can get at 17, it's a good idea to bounce the pick back to next year where theres a much, much deeper pool of players to choose from. The additional 2nd gives you a ton of flexibility moving forward too, it can be used for a player at the deadline if needed, or to package with another pick to move up in a draft where the talent pool will be deeper and you ultimately get a player better than what you would have gotten at 17 this year. The "optics" look better if there was a 1st attached to it I guess and while I would have loved for that 2022 pick to be a 1st rounder, no one was giving up their 2022 1st for Buchnevich.

Of their 'grind' players, I would have liked Barbashev or Sanford which is what irked me here. Blais isn't horriawful, but easily the worst of the 3. I anticipate St Louis felt the same way.

Ah yeah I didn't comment on that Buch deal yet. It certainty hurts. Really wish they kept him until a better deal came along if they really didn't want to sign him for around that. Ah well. Gotta move on... But yet tempted to buy his jersey for the Blues when it comes out lol

Wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure Tony was being a prick but Georgie really got let off the hook from mostly everyone (fans and media) considering he punched a teammate in the face. He was definitely somewhat responsible for the incident (it's not an incident worth any kind of note at all if they just have an argument that doesn't come to blows) and got treated by the media like an innocent child and Tony lost his spot on the team as a result. Can definitely see that not sitting well with some players in the room.

Not to mention he's a total headcase.

Right. As I posted earlier, Tony was also wrong, but Georgiev got no heat and Tony bore the brunt. I always remember that play; Georgiev was the one who botched the handoff to Tony that led to the OT GWG. He could have just owned it and the argument wouldn't have escalated to physicality, maybe?

And, I don't go out of my way to bring up Tony here. But the subject of Tony keeps popping up.

So we know Buchnevich wasn't in the Rangers season schedule video and now he's gone, who else wasn't in it?

From the little I saw, Blues Fans were hoping it could have been Sanford instead of Blais
