Drury was our 1C and pretty much played up to his career production his first 2 seasons here. His 3rd year he had a nagging injury all year and his 4th year he missed most of the season before getting bought out and retiring. Drury was a great captain and leader and it reflected because the team played much better when drury was able to play vs when he wasnt in his 4th year.

But im not going to convince anyone of anything. Of all the bad contracts the rangers have handed out, drury's wasnt even close to the worst.

No one said it’s the worst. But it was absolutely awful. He didn’t even match his previous years production in the first two years. Defending that contract is comical. I’m not defending Gomez. Just saying, if we had to go back in time… I’d rather give gomez his. Because he ended up landing us mcdonagh.

I'd keep Nylander to keep Jagr happy so that Jagr stays.
 
I'm really scared of Danault

Once it happens I'm sure I'll be able to convince myself to be ok with it.. but I'm sorry I don't really care how good he is defensively, for a forward to score only 5 goals all season and then get a 6y/6m term.. that has albatross written all over it

I think they've been individually pretty consistent. Vince has always said they can. Brooksie has always said they can't.

Fox winning the Norris, and then the makar contract signing changed the narrative significantly.
You also see mikas contract asks (even if that’s the starting number) and with a flat cap it absolutely changes the narrative. Changing an opinion or narrative in the face of new evidence is a good thing not a bad one.
 
If Danault is so pricey, grab Wennberg, hold Zib, see what happens with Barkov next summer and make a decision on whether to extend Zib based on whether Barkov makes it to the market or not.
