  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. we dont know what the ask from Minn was.
But its clear the rangers likely offered better, and its just a Ny tax.
 
Krebs and Hague are pretty good pieces, especially if they're prioritizing a top center. It was never going to be as high as weird people on message boards said unless teams drove themselves crazy in a bidding war.

it entirely depends on danault's cap hit. but i almost want a ck/danault/goodrow 3rd.
15+m on the third line, but it would absolutely never be in the defensive zone.

I can tell you now Breadman's gonna be disenfranchised if Strome is gone. First, Blackwell, then Buch, and possibly Strome.

The Twitter aspect of this is about the tendency for pretty much every organization to overreact to bad PR nowadays. They bow to the Twitter mob while mistakenly thinking that Twitter reflects the opinions of most people in real life. It simply doesn’t.

I am al for Tony D being gone. If he was pissing people off and not fitting in the room, then he needed to go. End of story.

But everyone and their mother didn’t need to know the extent of the dirty laundry. Keep it quiet, do what you can to move on from the player.

The Rangers wanted to be known as the organization that wouldn’t put up with Tony’s crap. They succeeded in that but hurt themselves in the process.

I see Brooks is suggesting in the opening the possibility of moving Strome while adding BOTH Eichel and Danault to next season’s team, which would include Zibanejad — at least for next season. I just dont know how the cap would work then. If it does work, that is an all in move stating we are going for it. There would be no other way to look at it if you plan to make all 3 centers work for one year, that you are self-renting Zibanejad and likely letting him walk at year’s end. I do like the idea of upgrading Rooney.

But for one year, assuming Strome and Chytil would be on the way out, could this all fit for next season:

yes they can make it work for THIS season then I guess it would be Eichel/Danault going forward

If Zib wants 10 it’s a pipe dream. Unless he takes like 8 OR Rangers can get Buffalo to retain on Eichel even 2M it’s not possible really unless the Rangers already know they’re going to bridge Fox and they take like a 4 year run at this
 
The "Eastern Conference Tax" for an Eichel trade likely isn't going to make what their ask is that much bigger than what they're asking from Vegas.

Is there a chance? Yes. Is it likely? No.
