Also honestly not sure how the Rangers would make these situations Larry throws out there work.

What are they going to do with Ritche? Pay him a ton of money to play on the third line with other FA aquisitions for a huge money line? WHat do you do with your other wingers Kreider, Panarin, and Lafreniere? With Kakko and Kravtsov on the other side?

The Rangers have too many wingers with too much talent to be acquiring another "smash mouth" winger who doesn't score a lot and will probably cost a ton, they already got Goodrow.

Buffalo ownership wouldn't want Eichel traded to the Rangers even if it was the best offer because Eichel would be all over MSG+, the channel that broadcasts Buffalo games, and constantly making their ownership look like shit. Buffalo has been ran like hell and is a sorry excuse for a franchise and the ownership is doing its best to hide tail and run.

How should the previous regime have played it?

Put him back in the lineup and said "nah it's good but we're listening on offers!"

How should the Rangers have handled the DeAngelo situation?
Any way to get ANY asset for him INCLUDING dealing him before signing him last yr which, as I recall was an option many of us had brought up saying his value was the highest it ever would be and Trouba/Fox/Lundy etc.

I am not into hind sight, I was just responding to the poster.

I personally think the Deangelo situation was managed horribly. It reeked of unnecessary Twitter driven PR.

Regardless of what he did and how the organization felt about it, it should have been handled privately and they should have done whatever they could have done to salvage some value with the asset.

Instead we have rumors, hearsay, and yet another buyout. Everyone came out of the Deangelo situation looking bad.

I'm game for Ritchie at a fair price. He's a poster boy for the theme of this offseason. Truculence and a good net front PP2 player.

People saw the altercation, it was all over twitter before the Rangers did a single a thing

At that point it was damage control already.

Anyways I could see Daneault putting up good numbers as a 2C with Panarin honestly if they clicked, no one thought Strome was a 2C until he played with Panarin

The ADA situation was also driven by the player. At a certain point a player who's essentially "warned" you're on your last strike, who then mouths off to his own goalie... yeah he did that to himself.

The report we got was that he had been fine in 19-20, but couldn't shut up in the locker room at the start of the season and was really pissing people off.
Thats on him not Twitter.

I like Danault as the player but if we get him that’s our “cup run” team Zibanejad Danault as 1/2Cs and the kids. Is it good enough?
