its not really a legal clash. the cba says the team has to approve any surgery. which is the whole hold up, the sabres aren't approving the surgery that eichel wants to get.
If thats the exact wording - that the team has to approve any surgery a player gets. Then the team and the player in this scenario are in a standoff. The player can likely refuse the surgery the team wants (fusion), but the team is refusing the surgery the player wants (replacement).

That guy interested in increasing page views. He was on twitter bragging about getting 1.3 million page views last month. I don't even follow him and twitter puts him in the timeline. It's f***ing annoying.
Same. Never seen a blogger so full of himself.

Eichel - not excited by this unless it’s pennies on the dollar and we can LTIR his 10 mil if things go poorly medically

Dvorak - if it’s a collection of good to decent spare part (Jones/Strome/Georgie) fine, would like to see what he can do.

Strome - his return will probably horrify us like Buch. Best either to package him (see above) or keep him

Exactly. Best case scenario, DVo comes out of camp having chemistry with panarin and looking like a solid 2C upgrade from strome that’s younger and signed.
Worst case, chytil takes steps fwd overtaking the 2C position and Dvo drops to 3C and NYR recreate a Tampa 3rd line with Kreider-Dvo-Goodrow. Dvo playing the Gourde role.

and that’s really not worst case to have either.

Worst case scenario is neither fit with Panarin and we got rid of our 2c.

John Shannon savages Eichel in this clip.

Eichel is getting paid like a great player but he isn't a great player. He has baggage. Eichel has an attitude problem. Coaches and GM's have clashed with him. His health is a major question mark. The Sabres won't give teams access to Eichel's medical records. Shannon is shocked there is as much interest in Eichel as has been reported. He wouldn't give up much for him. Too much risk with Eichel.

Shannon is good friends with Slats. I am sure they have discussed Eichel.

Many NHL GM's agree with Shannon.

The Sabres have finished bottom 5 in the league in 5/6 seasons the Eichel has been with them. They have surrounded him with nobody to play with. After 6 years and a career average at almost a point per game, yeah I’d be pissed off at the front office and want to move on from Buffalo too. Pretty tough to stay optimistic and have a positive attitude when you are losing all the time. If anything I’m glad Eichel has a pulse. Was Buffalo expecting him to be a Shane Doan and just stick out his entire losing career in one spot?

One of the worst rangers bloggers is trying to find meaning in an unpaid intern being on vacation.
My 41st birthday is ruined. First Dave Shapiro, now this.
