I really don't think so, but I'd love to be wrong on that. Finding a way to grab one of the Flyers forwards supposedly available would be sweet.

Laughton by a mile IMO.

He'd be such a good 3C here, then you could move Colton to the wing where I think he'd be even better for us.
If we got Laughton, our top 9 would basically be set for 3 years, Mikko contract..

At this point, I kinda want Phil Kessel on a PTO. He would be the antithesis of Colton and Wood, but it would be funny seeing them just skating around being chaos monkeys with Phil casually soaking up points left and right.
Do it for the memes. I'd eat a package of hot dogs in one sitting if the thrill signs here this summer

The cap when Compher signed his $3.5 deal was $79.5 million That's was 4.4 percent of the total cap. Now the cap is $83.5 million. Colton's $4 million a year is 4.7 percent of our total cap. Also, with the cap jumping next year, this is a good deal.

After taking an hour to reflect, I like this deal. After that "new player shine" wears off, I think there's a chance that he'll be seen as overpaid due to relative lack of offense, but I don't think we'll ever have issues or concerns with the level of effort.

Colton will do other things that will replace the lack of offense. Its not like houdini compher where he provides nothing but once in awhile does something ok.

Cap friendly has us at 2.8M. Am I missing something?
CF has Olofsson as an every day player and no Meyers. Swap them and it goes down to ~2.65M. I expect Olofsson wont be in the final every day roster, though we will certainly see him in the first round of call ups. Signing more shifts players off the cap on paper so really look at the delta. Signing a guy for 1.25M for example and pushing Olofsson off is a net $500K change in cap

Around 900k for Meyers.

At that price you better pray he sticks at center.
Tbh I forgot he's a C lol. We theoretically have our top six wingers if you count Drouin. Colton and Johansen as 2/3C whoever earns it.
