He blocked with his for sure, from that angle can't see him closing his hand on it but maybe the live feed showed a better angle of it.

Again maybe another angle shows that, but that doesn't show that. It shows him from behind swatting the puck out of the air absolutely, but doesn't show any hand closed on the puck.

If you believe it does show the frame where it shows it, otherwise its just personal speculation.
Again maybe another angle shows it or during the game live it showed it clear from the other side but this OP clip doesn't show that, just people assuming he did.
Uh it clearly shows him closing his fingers on the puck, windmilling with it, then throwing it off his teammate's leg
He caught a puck shot on net corralled it and threw it in another direction. Would be pretty impressive if he somehow managed this WITHOUT closing his glove on the puck.
I guess the refs thought that rule only applied to pucks on the ice surface and not in midair.

And the dumbest post of 2023 goes to...It wasn’t called a penalty therefore it isn’t a penalty. Good legal play and a hell of a save

:16 to :22 is all anyone should need to see here
He closed his hand/caught it which is the penalty not just the throwing part
He closed his hand on it. This is about as textbook of a call as you can get.
So where’s the penalty on the scoresheet? The refs are ultimately the high judges and their word goesAnd the dumbest post of 2023 goes to...

There is no such thing as a missed call. That is a concept made up by sour grape fansWell the general consensus is that the refs, as they often do, missed one here.

Overhead (my video of a video)
Players close their hand over the puck to this extent all the time. But the expectation is they’ll drop it more or less straight to the ground, in which case it’s (almost) never called a penalty.
But grabbing the puck and then throwing it out of danger, that’s what gets called more often than not.
