This kid will be our fourth line center and clutch faceoff guy/PK/end of game player on the Sabres at some point. Love him.

I see it has a photo of him on his martial arts excursion to whoop up on giraffes:

Amerks with some spurious defense there. 1-0 Syracuse.

Edit - made that 2-0 Syracuse.

Jobst battling in front gets his helmet knocked off and somehow Davies shot is saved as it bounced through Lagace. Don thought they scored.

Also, Biro is back, not sure how long since his whole season has been a string of injuries, but it's good to see him back.

Murray on the PK and his improved foot speed is noticeable as he's able to track and pressure the puck carrier all the way up to the Amerks' redline.

Biro back makes a difference and thus far, this seems like the best game I've seen Olischefski play. Not a high bar for Olischefski, but he's thrown some hits and played a pro style instead of just faffing about out there.

Walcott doing Walcott things, runs Rosen over from behind with no call and then Cecconi takes a penalty a moment later. Still tied. It's almost like the PK in both Buffalo and Rochester clicked a few weeks ago. Pilut blocking multiple shots - I've been impressed with his overall game for months. I don't think he's ever an NHLer, but he's a very good AHL defenseman.

Weissbach leaves bleeding badly. He got hit high at the Syracuse blueline and went down. Usau hit him, I can't tell if it was an elbow or shoulder right in his face (about 5:28 left in the 2nd if you have AHLTV and want to look for it).

Rousek makes a great cross-seam pass to Bartkowski pinching but didn't succeed.

Neither Mersch or Weissbach have returned after being injured. :(
