Sportsnet: Robertson Thread II: Rejected trade/contract from Kraken and Blues (Mod warning post #1)

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
You can’t be serious. How is he not a C?
Terrible defensively and on faceoffs. Can still be effective at center as long as the offense overrides the flaws, or he could develop more. But I could certainly understand the viewpoint that he might not be best at center

A mix of Barkov and Kopitar? Wow. I know the F in HF stands for future, but maybe we should chill on absurd stuff like that
The ironic part is, I've seen dude play and I can see the description. His numbers clearly and loudly say 'Fk you, pay me.' And that's his attitude talking, so have fun with that lol.

But if you need a playoff warrior.... just saying.

That guy was talking about Frondell, he's played in 12 meaningless nhl games so far.

He was 47 percent with a bum shoulder that stopped him from playing at the Worlds

He improved from 38 to 47 percent in a year...

Yeah, he was better at faceoffs last year after being all-world bad his first two seasons. That's encouraging, hopefully it continues to improve. He was still horrific defensively, but it's also been a terrible environment his first three seasons. We'll see if that changes

Washington could fit him in right? They'd need to jettison Strome to fit Leonard's deal next year, but that's doable. That instantly makes them the cup favorite imo.

Not sure what Utah has that Dallas would want.
A lot of what Dallas wants, is what Detroit wants. Much of the compensation for Robertson is getting flipped for Larkin. At least that seems to be what the plan was.

So this deal is even more complicated. Dallas may have themselves a big problem if he’s trying to force a deal to one team. Seattle can still make the deal too btw. Maybe that’s not entirely over yet. We’ll see, but looks like Seattle might have pivoted to Debrincat, knowing Detroit was the one dictating some of the return.

Jason Robertson only wants to play for a team that doesn't have a vowel in their name.

Seattle is going to wait a week, call him back and Robo will say yes lol.
But Dallas won't and shouldn't. I think most teams are unwilling to offer their top-10 pick for Robertson AND pay him 15M a year. For Dallas that pick would likely be a big reason to want to trade with Seattle. Post draft, a trade for Robertson would mean Seattle is a better team in 2026-27 (even if not a playoff team) and that pick likely goes to a pick in the 12-15 range.
