Sportsnet: Robertson Thread II: Rejected trade/contract from Kraken and Blues (Mod warning post #1)

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
I think he doesn't want to sign an extension at all. It seems like he wants a 1 year deal to become a UFA next year.
I think you’re right. Looks like he wants to walk right to the next years salary cap bump. What’s it supposed to go up to next year, 116 million?

What would Chicago’s lines look like with him? Thanks.

Sounds like he wants to go to Anaheim or LA.
LA has terrible prospects left, Anaheim can top anything LA offers and still not give up any of McQueen, Luneau or Solberg.

Most logical destination for him at this point I think.
Sharks probably want to give up 9++. Stars want 2+ I’m assuming that’s the hold up.
Sharks should offer 9 and say take it or leave it. Let Robertson do the rest of he wants to play in San Jose. Or Dallas can offer more money with term..or gamble on walking him to UFA

Nill needs to suck it up and just offer the guy 2m more /year. Maybe stop signing scrubs like Dumba/Lyubushkin every summer and give that money to your star players
“I prioritized Rantanen and Harley and to a certain extent, 43 year old Jamie Benn over you and then traded away our 2nd and 4th round picks for Tyler Myers and now we have no cap here is the deal I offered Rantanen a year ago when I made it clear you won’t be here long term.”

If Jason Roberterson turned down that deal because he's thinks hes worth more than guys like Marner, Kucherov, Pastrnak are worth 86 million/year.

If he turned it down because he doesn't think Seattle has it in them to make a deep run, alright fair enough, it's your career.

If he turned it down due to reasons I can't mention due to the mod warning. Spicy.

But honestly, even with the cap jumping $9 million/year going forward thats one of the few contracts for an elite player I'd say nah to.
