Sportsnet: Robertson Thread II: Rejected trade/contract from Kraken and Blues (Mod warning post #1)

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

He doesn’t have a NMC/NTC. He is just saying he won’t sign an extension there. Dallas could trade him to Seattle as a rental.
Yeah I know, im saying just ask him who hed sign with. No ones trading for him with a year left, during the summer

I know I'm really behind on this but is it that Robertson doesn't want to stay in Dallas or is Dallas unwilling to pay him?
Probably at this point a little of both. Dallas will pay him but not what he's hoping for. He rejected $12 mil per from Dallas and seems to not want to sign with a team that has no shot at being competitive. If any California team comes to the table it's a done deal. Seems like this whole back and forth has soured him on Dallas I think.

I think Dallas would be happy to. Problem is finding a team he will sign with, has the assets, has the cap space and is willing to make the trade.

Sharks can. But I am not convinced the Sharks would rather pay him 14mil vs Stenberg on an ELC.
Oh I know. But that is normally always the case though, right? Most teams that have the cap space are likely not in a position to compete today. Or want to keep money for their own impending RFA's and UFA's. If he is making a stink about wanting more $$ than the 12M that the Stars repeatedly offered BUT wants more money and a similar level contender, it is just not going to happen.

Pretty much. Wants to have his cake and eat it too.
