Sportsnet: Robertson Thread II: Rejected trade/contract from Kraken and Blues (Mod warning post #1)

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

Keep the politics out of it or you will be gone. Continue:

At this time, just let him and his agent talk to teams where he wants to sign. Let them do the work and come back with the framework of the offer and then decide if they want to trade them to said team(s). He certainly has destination(s) in mind but whether they want him to pay what he wants. The Stars then weigh the offer and decide if they want to make the deal or not.

I think Dallas would be happy to. Problem is finding a team he will sign with, has the assets, has the cap space and is willing to make the trade.

Sharks can. But I am not convinced the Sharks would rather pay him 14mil vs Stenberg on an ELC.

I get why teams have trades ready before asking a player to waive their NTC/NMC but like why dont you just ask Robertson where he wants to go lol. This all feels like such a waste of everyones time
He doesn’t have a NMC/NTC. He is just saying he won’t sign an extension there. Dallas could trade him to Seattle as a rental.

He doesn't have a big incentive to accept an offer sheet or a sign and trade. How contract/trade negotiations are likely going with he and Dallas:

Robertson: "Either pay me what I'm worth, or I'm taking my 1 year qualifying offer and walking to UFA status in a year whether you trade me or not, and then picking where I want to go. Ball's in your court and I'm good either way."
