if Redden is going to count either way, is he that bad of an option for the 3rd line pairing on defense? probably so lol

I look forward to seeing all the people who said they'd never watch another NHL game for the rest of their lives in the GDT opening night.

I said, I'd never be back, IF they didn't play this season, but they are.. so thankfully I don't have to give it up :handclap:

You need to upgrade, my friend. ;)

My girlfriend is a Bartender, I do alright :D

You also don't pay twice to watch a game or help raise the price of tickets.

Its obscene to think about the amounts I paid in my younger days. If only the kids now would listen, I'd at least save them from one year of their future kids college tuition.

If you're paying for cable, you're giving money to the NHL.

Lets not go overboard, some things are unavoidable. Plus that to me is peanuts compared to what most fans spend on one or two games let alone seasons.

We get to watch the Rangers play the Isles/Pens/Flyers/Devils a total of 28 times in the regular season. Out of 48 games.

It's gonna be a wacky season.

That doesn't help us much, with the strength of the Atlantic.

Why is it now 7? It's always been 6.

I seem to remember it being 8 at one point. The 7 is probably just for this season because there's no good way to split the rest of the season up between the 10 teams in the other two divisions. You can't play those teams 3 times, because it would leave less than 4 games against your divisional rivals.

I understand the rule going forward, but I just don't see how they can take a player who's been in our minor league system for years and just place him back on our cap.

Because we can afford to deal with our bad signings since we actually have a successful franchise, and that's unacceptable. Edit- successful monetary wise of course...

We're just gonna use our compliance buyout on Redden anyway. I don't see what the big deal is here about him counting against our cap.

Compliance buyouts don't happen until after this season, but it seems that the one-way AHL deals counting against the Cap will count this season.

Of course, the Rangers have $11m available before resigning MDZ, so it really doesn't matter for this year anyway.

I've been seeing on twitter everywhere from 4 to 7 each within the division. Best to just wait for word directly from the NHL.
