Good game! The important thing is the compete level and the jets looked like they cared. That's all I really ask for.

Really hoping for a W tomorrow so we can go into this four day break on a high. Sucks about enstrom but the good thing is we've already got lots of practice playing without him...

The officiating was highly annoying in this game.

The most encouraging thing for me last night is the contribution from all lines. To make the playoffs you need to be able roll 4 lines. It was also Buff's best game in awhile. Limiting his time a bit seems to help him stay fresh. I think he should be a a minute count by Huddy.

100% agree. Third line played a very good game - they were dangerous out there, and the fourth line (without looking at stats) appeared to play a pretty good possession game. Thorburn had the lowest amount of ice time, but he still logged 8+ minutes, with Gagnon and Wright logging 10+, including PK time. Getting a goal (the GWG at that) from the fourth line was a nice bonus. Good effort all around - if there was one negative for me, it was the fact that they played the game a bit too open in the third. More shut down and neutral zone clogging would have been nice.

Go :jets Go!

Good game by the Burmi line. I disagree that he's simplified his game. I won't argue he didn't have poor games before the benching, and didn't do much after being stuck on the 4th line, but I truly believe he's the reason two marginal players are performing well on that 3rd line. So as much as I believe he and Kane should be together, it might actually hurt the team now.

If/when Antro comes back, I'd love to have him slot in as 2nd line C for a game or two and send Jokinen to the press box.

I agree with this as well. Really makes me hope that Cheveldayoff can improve the 2nd and 3rd lines next year. As great as it would be to have a superstar or two, having 3 scoring lines you can roll, and a checking 4th would be great.

Overall, I didn't think there were a lot of passengers yesterday. Jokinen maybe, and Hainsey had some gaffs, but I thought he was ok overall. Agree with the thought on here that the Tangradi, Burmi, Santorrelli line has looked ok. It would be nice though to see what Burmi could do with Kane more, and move Olli to the 3rd.

Buff was at 22 minutes and that should probably be his max. I think he's looked better lately around the 20 mark. Also, is it just me or is Clitsome looking more and more like a guy to possibly keep around next year?

I would definitely keep clitsome next year.

See, all the Jets seem to need was some good rest between games. If only we could get some help from the Caps opponents where one of them takes out Ovi for the season.

Hoping for a big W tomorrow. We'll see.

Noel said Toby is day-to-day and they'd look at him again today. He mumbled something about muscles and seizing up and then stopped talking. So we'll assume he's week-to-week.

I agree, it kept the whole team a little fresher, not to mention that the bottom six actually looked pretty dangerous! I've enjoyed watching the waiver wire boys play a fast and energized game. I think this was a huge difference to the success tonight, as past games we seemed to be rolling the top 6 guys over and over trying to wring every last ounce of energy out of them.

I love the agressive PK of Kane, Burmi and Wright (when he's on the PK). Most of the time our approach seems to be stand still and collapse, but these guys give very little time to the opposing PP and make them make mistakes. I think a lot of us have been asking for this for a long time now.

I haven't heard anyone talk much about Ladd's goal. I thought he did an amazing job of getting that puck around miller while flying by. Everyone raved about the pass, which was great, but the hands of Ladd on that goal were incredible.

It's games like these that make losing streaks so frustrating.... we see what this team is capable of and it makes it hard to understand games without this type of effort.

Looking forward to Thursday!

The one good think is that after Thurs we have 4 days off, so theoretically Toby could take a week to heal up and only miss 1 game. Assuming it really is a day-to-day thing.

Sure looked like Buck - er, ummm, Toby got dinged again. Looked to me like he was favoring his shoulder righter he bumped into the Sabre player... Wasn't even much of a hit.

You sure you saw the right hit? Looked like a pretty solid hit to me. Enstrom was caught a little off balance and he got thrown backwards into the boards hard.

Yeah, could just be nothing. Could be a herniated disc - which could be very serious. Who knows? It just looked like a pretty solid hit is all I'm saying...

That zone entries link didn't work (there's no uppercase "S" in "sabres"). But HFBoards seems to be automatically inserting the capital S in there!

I fixed the link in garret's post. I think someone originally titled the post with "Sabres" instead of Sabres so the link was generated that way instead. ;)

edit - stupid HF auto correct. Just change the spelling in the link to s a b e r s like castle mentioned below me.

Wellwood playing with Kane seems to work; not sure who should be the 3rd person on that line...maybe someone who could stand in front of the net?

I agree, Westwood was saying that it was a nothing hit all morning. Toby got rocked from what I saw.

Backward cheers don't work and they are bad karma. If you want Leafs to help you then genuinely say it. ;)

I, for one, want Leafs to take all 6 points from NYR, NJ and WAS to help Jets out.

Go Leafs Go?

Uhm, I think I'll pass.
I want those teams to lose. The Leafs winning is an unfortunate by product.

Was at that game, remember the knucklehead went after Lions CB Eric Carter. Guy is damn lucky that Bomber players were trying to hold the Lions back. A few of those Lions players (Kidd, I remember Benefield was in there too) were treating him like he had a death wish.

It's funny you mention calling in sick, I remember that game was the day before Rememberance Day. The Bombers killing it and most people having the next day off made that easily the most liquored-up Bomber game I've ever been to.

Must have been the Tuesday I called in sick then. Worst flu I've ever had. I still probably felt better than the idiot fan though...
