I agree, Westwood was saying that it was a nothing hit all morning. Toby got rocked from what I saw.

the enstrom hit is right at the start of this highlight reel. He got plastered into the board. When he goes down to the ice it looks like his body is made of rubber. The actual hit itself may not have been so hard, but his momentum was already in the direction of the boards, the hit added to it and he had no control over how he actually contacted the boards. That hurt...

That zone entries link didn't work (there's no uppercase "S" in "sabres"). But HFBoards seems to be automatically inserting the capital S in there!

I fixed the link in garret's post. I think someone originally titled the post with "Sabres" instead of Sabres so the link was generated that way instead. ;)

edit - stupid HF auto correct. Just change the spelling in the link to s a b e r s like castle mentioned below me.

the AIH link also has sabres spelled wrong

winnipeg-jets-buffalo-Sabres-zone-entries

damn.... I can't stop HF from autocorrecting it. shoudl be "s a b e r s" where Sabres is

Ahg!
Need me to fix anything?

Winnipeg Jets score more goals than Buffalo Sabres, win game
-your old fashioned recap

NHL Zone Entry Data: Winnipeg Jets 4 - Buffalo Sabres 1
-Garret's-very-own seasonal tracking of the Jets' zone entries

EDIT: the Sabres was spelt S a b e r s by one of my editors by accident and due to HFBoards auto-correction it won't connect the link properly...
So, I replaced it with a google shortened URL... hopefully that will fix it

No individual Fenwick data up still... Will update when Alex finishes.

I fixed the link problems to the zone entry data some were having.

Definitely a pretty good hit - to me, it looks like he caught the dasher board really hard just under his shoulder blade / in the ribs. Hopefully he's just banged up, but I don't think it was his shoulder after looking at the hit again.

The four blind mice obviously decided in the 2nd intermission that they were going to stop any 3rd period shenanigans by giving Buffalo every opportunity to get PP chances, while awarding none to the team in the lead.

I guess it worked but it sure wasn't even adjudication.

The officiating was pretty terrible in general - missed calls for both sides, IMHO. The Sens really got dinged with some bad calls yesterday too, including a "swiping the puck" off the face-off that VERY clearly wasn't the case. Ended up giving Tampa a 5 on 3.

I don't mind iffy calls, as long as those calls are consistent throughout the game and for both sides - seems to be a lot of inconsistency this year overall.

I'd say reffings been terrible this year but...people seem to say that every year.

To be honest the last few games it hasn't seemed as bad.

we really seemed to be getting the short end of the stick for a while though, lately it seems a bit bette rbut maybe thats just my rose/win colored glasses

I miss the old days when you recognized all the refs and they seemed to have a personality...Dan Marouelli, Don Koharski, Kerry Fraser, Terry Gregson.. likely a consequence of having 9 more teams and 2 refs on the ice at once... the current crop seem so generic to me. I don't know who any of them are.. they're practically faceless.. like they were imported in from NHL 13.

Of course they all sucked back then too and always favored whoever the Jets were playing as well. :)

For those who watched on TV, was the tripping call on Ladd in the 3rd, legitimate?

side note: We really should stop with the "refs you suck" chant after every call. At least, save it for the really bad calls.

It was legit. However there were plenty of other calls that should have been legit the other way as well.

That being said. The refs can put their whistles away for the rest of the season for all I care. Given the Jets special teams, can we just turn on 'no penalty' mode for the rest of the season?

You mean the EXACT same type of play that happened to Ladd and wasn't called? Yeah the reffing has been very bad as of late.

To be fair, the 'Refs You Suck' chant came after a blatant high stick was missed on the Jets.
